Whilst we want Qantas to do well as a national carrier we certainly want competition and in Qantas' own words survival of the fittest. Rex for instance stopped Ballina Sydney early flight and cut Ballina Brisbane Maryborough service. A visionary leader would have kept the Ballina Sydney early 6:30am flight - neither Virgin nor Qantas/Jetstar have one that early and instead of Maryborough could have had Ballina/Brisbane/Maroochydore route. Instead they went for glory and ended up being shunted through the glory hole

Farewell REX .I agree they had ridiculous and unfair rules regarding lounge access.I flew them twice , Melbourne to Adelaide business class ( when Jetstar abruptly cancelled my flight ) and Sydney to Melbourne business class .Very good service and very nice food ; more substantial then Virgin Business Class .On my flight to Adelaide I was the only passenger to have white wine and a fellow passenger had red wine .They very kindly gave us the rest of the bottles to take of the plane ! " We are not supposed to do this , so please don't tell anyone at the airport".Waste not want not ! .

You said you weren’t informed about priority lanes bij KLM, but that’s because you booked through a third party. If you book with KLM, you will be informed about all the priorities. And it really is named premium comfort. Not premium economy.
Amazing review Luke l. Great to see the Broome - Kununurra - Darwin corridor being relatively competitive for regional Australian standards! A good contrast in options with two quite unique airlines in Nexus and Air North! It’s amazing how lush and green it is up there despite the quite oppressive heat they get most of the year! Would love to see it in the wet season!
This is where NZ exports begin! Plane loads of Kiwis end up in Gold Coast and then to all parts of Australia leaving NZ population static at around 3 million. I spoke to a girl in Queensland somewhere the other day, young left her job in Auckland to come to AUS - no jobs no relatives YET she HAD to leave NZ! Is it really worth NZ being an independent country when defence, economy and even population - all reliant on Australia so much?

My family being Turkish decided back in 1985 to fly for a holiday back to Turkey with Turkish Airlines. They flew Singapore Airlines from Sydney to Singapore then changed and flew Turkish from Singapore to Istanbul. I dont know much about the flight as i was a baby back then BUT my parents absolutely hated the service on board, back then the flight attendants were lazy, refused to do the meal service and were rude to the passengers. The only time they ever saw any semblance of service was on the return flight from Istanbul to Singapore, there was a Turkish Diplomat on board and the flight attendants were doing services until the diplomat got off somewhere in the middle east during a fuel stop and the service once again stopped. My parents swore they'd never ever fly Turkish Airlines again even if the tickets were free. I've heard stories about how good their service is nowadays but still my parents refuse to fly even though its their national carrier of their home country.
The Dash-8 is impressive for its class. Air Greenland flies them internationally to Iceland and Canada. The Nexus "full milk run" from Perth to Darwin is about the only way Western Australians can fly interstate without using either Qantas/Jetstar or Virgin. The Dash-8 is well proven on medium haul flights even internationally from Greenland. I wonder if a Nexus route from Perth via Kalgoorlie to Adelaide could be possible.
Back during the days of COVID and afterwards, Qantas closed down the Canberra frequent flyer (FF) lounge on many days, and we had to use the business lounge that you were in. Which was nice for us economy flyers who ordinarily had to use the standard FF lounge. That remains my only experience in their business lounge in Canberra. 😅
great video as usual!, kinda crazy to see the 737 operating such a short flight. In regards to the 10 min video, i recently flew to NY on QF and the video was defiantly not 10 minutes, it seems that they cut it down to only have the key points, and this was on all 4 flights, its still not as good as the last one for sure!
Nicely done as always, though I suspect the QantasFreight 737 flight from Hobart-Launceston is slightly shorter than this 😉. This is definitely the shortest passenger one tho
Great presentation and a great to compare sector from CBR-SYD 12 Feb 2024 of your QF Business Class flight and with mine same sector flight May 1987 First Class with Ansett AN near new Boeing 737-377 with velvet seats and hot better meal very elegant. First Class with AN in the past was better than QF Business Class of today. It is good to remember Ansett Airlines of Australia and miss regulated Australian Two Airlines Policy with TAA TN having quality domestic air travel. Ansett 727.
@@YoungAussieFlyer Ansett flying with the Airline 1970's Boeing 727- 77 up until Airbus A320 November 2000 my final flight has gone sadly. AN gone. REX ZL is hanging on all connected with AN. Great airlines great service just to add old Air New Zealand TE international, Swissair SR, VARIG RG Brazil, SABENA SN and many more. Hughes Airwest RW and Western Airlines WA plus many more. Ansett 727.
