I'm gonna be real with you, I fucking hated Lucky Star when it first aired, but this song has lived rent free in my head ever since. I can't believe it's been over a decade. I still remember going to Anime Expo in 2007 in Long Beach, like, as the show was airing, and you could not escape crowds of cosplayers dancing to the OP or Hare Hare Yukai or people having tricking sessions to Nujabes. I can't escape, but at the same time I recognize that parts of the scene back then were way better than some elements of it today.
Just finished watching the 13 weeks through and I loved them. They're very charming in their own right, perhaps quaint is the appropriate term I'm looking for. It reminds me of a simpler time. Sad to see the last of it end on a somewhat sour note. Here I am years later and I'm wondering how the story ends; the remaining thirty-nine weeks. Did you find a job? Perhaps you left London? I'm left with a this sense of wonder that can only be received from seeing a glimpse into another's life. It's very bittersweet, but I think that's what's beautiful about it. Perhaps I'm just a sentimental person. Regardless, I hope you are doing well now. Cheers to the future, from the 'present' looking back.
