So I did something different but used this guide to show me what to do. I have 2 intersystem cargo links per planet(same system you used) and funnel them in a chain to the first planet which has the main cargo link to my home hub planet, I have an outpost right outside New Atlantis, on Jemison. Works great man, thanks so much. I would have had no idea how to do it without this guide! 👍🏼
@briancallison They don't really explain it in game. Took some trial and error during my first run. I knew going into ng+ exactly where I was going to build this network and did almost all of it before even visiting the lodge for the first time lol! I appreciate it man! With the DLC here, I'm actually back to Starfield and have a few outpost videos planned for the next couple weeks. Working on a simple guide on how to add a 2nd star system to your network while still having all the resources funnel to you main original planet as well as a fabricator guide so you can automatically have your resources get used to create useful items without having to touch anything ever outside of initial setup. This helps keep your network from getting clogged up with raw resources. Stay tuned!
@Ansellthethird That's why I said this is good for when you start a NG+ playthrough. The earlier game, the better. You lose all your outposts and ships moving on to NG+
I made about 16 bases mining for everything in the game, took a long time and a lot of effort but i got there. When i finally decided to start providing my hard earned resources via mission terminals, i realised the entire system was broken and the supply was either never picked up or never delivered. Bethesda are crap at making functioning games.
@mactravel I appreciate it man. I actually started playing this week again after a 4 month break from the game. With the DLC inbound, I'm getting the feel of things again. Probably will have a video on creating a fabricator network out before the dlc drops.
@anon_ymous91 I haven't ran into that thankfully. I do run a pretty high end rig though so that may play into it. Game is creation engine loves eating up cpu resources as well as vram. I have however had to console command my settlers back down to the ground numerous times as they end up on the rooftops
@thejimmichanga2913 I have a pretty beefy rig too so that shouldn't be the issue. I'm not sure what's causing it but I've had it randomly happen a few times now. Same thing used to happen in sanctuary in F04. So far it's only happened in lamberth walk, but due to losing everything I'm to scared to try building big at other settlements.
I've been using Sim Settlements 1 and while I have to manually assign each settler they stay put (did have issues with Whittiker not being interacable and staying properly assigned) did notice they wouldnt stick properly on the random crops I planted but when I left and came back they were assisned, but with Sim Settlements 1 it seems to workl

@Oxy_Cotton not very high. You can go 2 stories no problem, but while you can put up a 3rd story wall, you cannot put a floor/roof on top of it. That my biggest gripe of the entire settlement, especially since there's so much potential to build on the 2nd story balconies in the middle, but you cant.
Hey THE JimmiChanga can you also detail which resources do you get from each planet ? as an example talking about the first moon from this vid i set up the outpost on helium3 al and be spot do i forget or sacrifice the nd or can i collect it in some other way as in setting up multiple on 1 planet/moon (what happens to cargo ling situation in that case)
@MrAtharos I would avoid setting up more than 1 outpost per planet as it can cause the cargo link system to act wonky. I'm a huge advocate for taking the extra time on each planet to find biome split, therefore maximizing the potential resources in each settlement. The surveying perk can help a lot by highlighting materials before landing so you can pin point your best landing spot to achieve this.
This was a really well done video of your network and how and why it is set up this way. However, when you started to talk about the outpost that handles organics, your mispronouncing of husbandry nearly caused me to develop a facial tick. I know others have had a go at you about your pronunciation of things, but this one was like a splinter directly into my amygdala (ah-mig-da-la). So, for the sake of those who may have suffered along with me, it is not pronounced "husband-tree" it's pronounced "huhs-ban-dree" 😊
The first settlement I stumbled across was Biggin Hill Airport. And it happened to work just fine. The second one was London Bridge where I have exactly the issue you are describing. I am now past Level 40 and still couldn't find a third settlement. Maybe I will use a guide soonish.
@Tenajeh I beat the game a few weeks back and can say definitely that the 2 settlements that worked for me without any real issues were biggins and covent. Outside of that I've ran into all sorts of weird things with the other ones. Lambeth walk was actually pretty problem free for me too outside of settlers leaving it randomly for Vauxhall construction out of no where.
Huh, not just me having this issue. The tennis museum, is also busted. Had set up a settlement there & is no good, but at least there is one working one for now, good that someone put this info out there.
@dancingbadgers haven't tried it but I haven't had any issues with anything else and at this point I have the maximum of 20 settlers all assigned to different things. I have my size bar filled a little over 3/4 and no real issues aside from settlers pathing getting wonky every now and again.
@@thejimmichanga2913 Nice, was trying to make womble park at Vauxhall Constriction, but gave up on it after multi attempts the emitter just wouldn't keep even one tame.
If you enjoy this project please drop a like! Let's get this video out there to as many people as possible to showcase the incredible job team Folon has accomplished! As always, if you enjoy BGS game related content, please subscribe. I've got plenty more in the pipeline!
i've followed your guide, however, my cargo links seem to only be transporting 1 resource at a time even though i have multiple resources set to the out bound link, any ideas?
Level 9, settlement at london Bridge and I am done. Beefy somehow has fallen through bridge and I found him dead. 2 settlers gone missing. And 1 somehow drop inside water and got drown.. There are also bugs showing food 17 then 0. Also, happiness factor is here too tough.
Theres plenty of junk scattered about everywhere. I didn't have any issue collecting what I needed. Most vendors seem to carry bulk shipments as well. The downside is their fairly pricey.
@OwliSketches damn, that's some heavy assage! Thats a straight up tease. Sure, we'll let you build here, but forget about storing your junk! 100% migrate to Covent. If you listen close enough you can actually hear it calling your name!
Once I learned that you could just pick up mag pistols at high level and use the 20k credits from each to purchase materials I didn't sweat construction that much. My priority instead is to go up to the edge of the arctic zone of Jemison and put an Amp farm in place. You have two different plants that provide materials via greenhouses while the gas comes from the frozen area nearby. From there you queue up Amp by the 100's and put them on a hot key to always boost movement speed.
@@thejimmichanga2913 as if getting resources is fun. It’s a game filled with tasks. And the gaming community has come to learn tasks in games is one of the reasons the gaming industry is in shambles.
@blockmasterscott I've found all of mine at either a night club or bar. I've even found a few at the some procedurally generated bars on random planets without any major POI's
Irony update: Right after making this video and stating it was unraidable, I got raided. You can't make this shit up. Turns out 54 defense IS NOT enough. I now have 101. Hooligans, good fucking luck!
@TheMicj38 Mines the same key that I use in fallout 4. I actually changed mine to holding the mouse wheel in. I'm not sure what it was originally to be honest. I want to say V but I may be getting that confused with horizon forbidden west's focus keybind. Try pressing and holding V.
the Biggin Hill airport works fine too , as long as you dont want to use shops, they dont work, the inventory is just broken when you try to interact with them. had the game crash MULTIPLE TIMES when opening the settelment shop menu. just dont. otherwise everything works. i know this because i only have that one, and have had it for 20+hours now and everything is still going great.
Cov-Ent Garden. I need more of these builds please. can you do the bridge and add mods to extend limits. i want to see how far you make it widen. im thinking multiple floor to get a massive view of london. i know you can do it
I'm actually going to do a short update video on my Covent Gardens settlement today. Unfortunately, settlements other than Covent Gardens are kind of broken right now, so until we get a patch I'm not really going to mess w/ the other ones. Once the patch comes, I have big plans for this channel and settlements.
did anyone else do the quest for the london bridge settlement then aquired it then after 40 min of game time it just reverted back to you are no allied to this settlement and it no longer says this is a settlement also you cant acces the inventory i am legit locked out of the settlement for some reason dont know why if someone has answers please do tell
I have not, but you're not alone. I read on reddit many faced that same chimchong. That's honestly why I abandoned ALL open world settlements and brought all my mats to Covent Gardens until a patch. There's certainly workarounds to get the open world settlements to work, and even a few comments down below of some fixes, but everyone's miles may vary. One thing is constant and consistent. Covent Garden's is the safest settlement to dump resources into and works as intended.
this is definitely good to know about Covent Garden -- i may try to set it up for production. i managed to get London Bridge stable with the original 6 -- Beefy on defense, 6 mutfruits, and 4 scavenging stations for the mercenaries, but didn't want to push my luck. i set up a beacon at Lambeth Walk, and got 3 people, but after assigning tasks, reassigning to the settlement, and leaving the cell, they all migrated to Biggins Hill. Biggins Hill was the first settlement i unlocked, but i left it intentionally empty for homebase purposes. i'm not sure why they went there, but i sent them back to Lambeth Walk, and then shut off the beacon. with no beacon active, i could then assign tasks, reassign to the settlement, and they'd stay. i didn't set up any supply lines -- they didn't work at London Bridge when i first tried to set them up, and didn't troubleshoot further. i also noticed that when planting strawb and nettle plants, the surplus food deposited in the bench was only tatos, so those have to be harvested manually.
@xylok_dnb2444 as crazy as it sounds, from what I'm seeing on here and reading on reddit, everyone's case seems to be different. A literal case by case scenario.
@FerretyCoffee given they did this in the creation engine makes it that much more impressive. As someone who's dabbled with the creation engine, getting larger areas optimized is a big ask. Them creating a map this big consisting of 90% dense urban city and having it run reasonably well is seriously impressive.
when you assign a settler a task they forget which settlement they belong to, after assigning you need to press "r" on them and reassign them to the settlement
Oh, you have workers softlock doing food? mine were softlock doing guard posts, after i assigned them (biggin hills), they are freeze and just stuck in place, i cant access their inventory, and you can guess what happened when you are being raided and your guards are using .32 crude guns.
I actually couldn't get them assigned to anything in any settlement outside of covent gardens. There is however a loophole around it that is a temporary band aid in all the other settlements
@grizzlyadamblack honestly it's been pretty solid for me outside of the settlements. I have had 4 crashes in 43 hours. I'm running the steam version with 3 added mods, buffout 4, long loading time fix, and weapon debris fix. 100% recommend if you're on the fence.
I only unlocked London Bridge so far, but to me it's broken in a different way. I'm able to assign settlers to tasks and it says "3 food" after doing so but the settlers won't start working on their assigned stations and the population goes down everytime I assigned a settler, yet they physically stay and become inaccessible (for their inventory, I can still assign them new roles). I hope this gets fixed soon, I wanted to go big into settlements with such interesting locations as London Bridge. Hope the janky engine won't kill the fun preemptively this time.
I have the same issue, annoying, but I found that after I assign them to food I have to resend them to the settlement to actually start working. Hope that helps you man. 👍
@brohvakiindova4452 I've did some pretty extensive testing on this issue. The 4 settlements In the open world all suffer from the same issue. You assign settlers to a task, they work it for a few seconds, then dissappear from the population. It makes it impossible to keep a consistent settlement. Covent Gardens however works like a normal settlement should since its technically located in its own cell, separated from the open world. You may find temporary work arounds in the open world settlements, but from what I've tested as well as read from others on reddit, they will eventually stop working the assigned task and dissappear from the population. If their assigned to food for example, you'll lose the food stat you had after the dissappear. In some cases people have reported settlements unallying itself from you, causing you to lose what's stored in there.
@@thejimmichanga2913 understood man. Definitely needs to be fixed, however I had up to 18 food points in biggie hill airport before I restarted the game in survival. Not saying it’s not broken, but that’s what I found helped. I assigned them to every food plant one by one, and after they were assigned to the one food plant I would have to resend them back to the settlement. Maybe a temporary bandaid? Also. What do you have to do to get convent settlement? Thanks man.
@lukecrawford2693 interesting, I'm going to have to fiddle with that concept becauseI originally had some big ass plans for some of the open world settlements (specifically london bridge. I guess my main issue is when they dissappear after assigning them, I can't find them to even reassign them back to the settlement. I did notice that when i try to tell my companions to kick rocks for a bit and pack on to a settlement, they don't actually go. They end up whereever they go as if you dismiss them entirely.
@RaterProTrickster it's seriously impressive. Just when I think u can't be more amazed by the sheer size and scope I explore another borough to find it fully flushed out.
Yeah man, I'm actually doing the same lol. I still haven't cured lab rat yet and am attempting to explore these higher level areas of the map. I honestly can't help it, they did London some serious justice despite the creation engine's limitations!
Check out my outpost videos that came after this one. I feel like you'll get a lot of the information you're looking for. If you still find yourself having questions, leave me some feedback on what you need help with and I'll try to include that in a future video! Thanks for stopping by!
