My question…why is it that when u type in 1996 it shows that parts fit same for years 1996-1999 on these things yet when u get the part…nothing lines up or matches!? I am sick to death of working Jeep cherokees! After years of this bs I should have found a solution and yet I have not! Don’t waste ur money on these junk a$$ jokes! Jeep has totally ruined their name! That engine will run for half a million miles! But go to a junkyard and count how many r there! Why!? Because of the security and the wiring being total junk! If I ever get the opportunity to sue these scam artists for this scam of a vehicle! I’m doing so! I’ve had to work on so many of these damned cursed cherokees I refuse to anymore! I pray that this video solution helps with most but it hasn’t for me but I think the problem I’ve encountered on numerous cherokees between 95- new is caused by the flawed security systems in them…unlike other manufacturers set up on the security systems …I have not found a way to bypass and remove it from Jeep…it’s like the Microsoft os having the built in crash program so u have to buy a new computer…Jeep is using Microsoft’s idea of guaranteed death dates for these over priced piles of shite!
Ok well I did that with the little blue connectors and it rolls all the windows from the driver side but the other switches on the passenger's dont work and the front and rear passenger window either stops or doesn't move at all
So, let me begin by saying I am not the most handy guy on the planet. Somewhere a bit north of 10 thumbs. I have had this problem with the front passenger side window for about three years now, was not sure of how to fix. I watched the video, put the principles to work and PROBLEM SOLVED. So just a few added tips. First that front bolt is a 7/16 and needs a deep socket. Second that kick stop piece the bolt is attached to is a bit of a problem getting out, just shake rattle and roll until it comes out. THIRD TOP TIP as another reader suggested I used a plastic quick splice piece. It worked well and only required a slight bit of fiddling but make sure you have the larger wire gauge piece as the smaller blue ones are not wide enough. Honestly it only took me about 30 seconds to install the quick splice. The only problem I have is I cannot get that forward bolt back in but the two X head bolts in the floor are holding the kick plate in securely so I am not too concerned, I just wish I could figure out how to do it.Thanks for the video, it was a great help and my wife is delighted she has her window back!
I have this issue, good odea i will try this.....recently tho my rear window which only works with driver controls like the other window only works every now and again with the driver switch!!....ideas to fix plz??
thanks for sharing. My driver side front speaker and both my back and speakers go on and off but mainly off. I think the front wire itself is a hair too small and over time it bent and sheered off from opening and closing the door.
I have a question all of my windows won’t go down and the interior lights stays on and it’s a 2004 Cherokee how do I fix this? The same way or different ?
Well, I can only say, that so far 5 min after, the fix it works, the only window I was having problems with was the passenger front door, sometimes it worked but mostly got stuck down. But right now it seems repaired. So thank-you for your help. P.S. once I got the connector off there was more room to wire it together. Only took 10 mins.
You certainly saved me a lot of work! Thanks. Another problem I have all of a sudden is that when one starts driving, within 5-10 seconds all the door locks engage. Up till a little while ago it sounded normal. Now all of a sudden both the front and rear passenger doors make a loud squealing noise when they engage. Scares the shit out of my passengers. Not sure how to deal with that. Did water get inside the door?
im 10 and i have my own laptop of asus, this is my 2nd laptop because i had acer last time and it broke on the sides and my family thought i dropped it and i just found out today that the sound happened again and i never dropped this laptop
01 jeep Cherokee Windows stopped working 3 years ago but really didn't care to fix them cause I do ac and every other video I saw just said to to the same thing wires being pulled when you open door attached an extra peace of wire worked every once in a while so I gave up!! Saw your video and it fixed the problem all my windows and door locks working as well thanks a bunch bro!!
My grand cherokee laredo 2000 has this problem I spent a lot of money for it. now the Ac don't works, the windows also, and I completely stuck... the mechanic told me it's coulb be fault of the CV. could you give me an Idea pls.
