Some of his material in the early days was OK, but more recently, he went and did an Open University degree, after which he’s taken himself far too seriously. Just another chippy race grifter now.
The best Lenny Henry joke was in an episode of Extras where Keith Chegwin is saying there’s no funny black comedians and Ricky Gervais tells him there’s loads of them like Dave Chapelle and Chris Rock. Then Keith says “What about British ones then?”, and Ricky takes a moment to think, then spots a photo of Lenny Henry on the wall and says “Ummm…” 🤔
He said the artist was like “the French Rolf Harris” and the crowd reacted. Then he said “See, back in the day I could’ve said that and you wouldn’t have said shit.”
Lenny Henry, not funny, not original, not topical but the right skin colour to satisfy the BBC. Does anybody remember Henrys "documentary" on why is snooker so racist. Only the Biased Broadcasting Corporation would air this lies. Defund the BBC.
Unbelievable that you wrote this. Just showed this to a house full of a guests and everyone was speechless - the majority did not believe at all that you wrote this. They’ve been convinced and are in awe. Super talent and passion and so much energy and feeling. I felt there were waves throughout the piece. The gradual crescendo was perfect. Can’t wait to catch up!
