I don t understand The love usa has for The músic " in my life " . Second best Beatles song? It a a midiun song ...50 is a good position.... And " a day in The life" is a bad taste Melody...lyrics weak....It Works as a part of The álbum , not separete...
Love this ❤ if you ever want to check out more Brazilian songs "La belle de jour" and "Girassol" by Alceu Valença is such a beautiful song, with a really touching melody
The Bossa Nova sample comes from a t.v. show where people play a queri/ answ., male/ female to acquaint to date game, yes people played a blind dating game on National T.V....& got paid!!! Who's gonna roll that back?!!! Who's Game?!!
I remember that in a visit to the US, when Tower Records was the top music store, I went in and looked for the new releases... there was Blind Melon's Nico album... I felt in love since the first song... but when I arrived to Soup song I knew that album will be on my top 5 forever... at the end with St. Andrew's fall I was already in another world. Such great musicans !
There is a argue in Brazil about Chico be a best songwriter than Dylan. Dylan wins, but a brazilian person always says: But he doesn't write Construção.
For me and the artists I know Bob is hands down the greatest songwriter ever. BUT I only know English music so for sure could be others in his rarified air!
LoVe 'Em both ❤️ Pretty Ballerina seems slightly more intricate and sophisticated in construction me ction and lyrics t. I think it's just a matter of taste. They both tug my heart💔 Thanks Y'all ✌️
A slight edge to You're Having My Baby for me. I like both songs. A bit of trivia--- Paul wrote the song It Doesn't Matter Anymore for Buddy Holly. Paul had a comeback in the record world at the same time as another 50s singer/songwriter, Neil Sedaka. Odia Coates sweetly enhances each song.
I love this and I loved it when it was John’s solo song. Now I love it more because Livvy is in it and this concert toured for 3 months with Anthony Warlow. It is the Main Event Concert. You have to watch John and Anthony singing Granada from this concert. Anthony is Opera trained and our top stage musical star, it is fun to watch John sing opera and he is funny in this. You will see another side of John and yes, John taught me that everyone on stage or to do with the production is just as important as anyone else and they all have names. They become our family too. John has always been that generous person. Thank you.
I was born in 1975. My mom was a huge ONJ fan, so I loved her from the moment I was born. By the time I went to first grade, I was madly in love with her and even had a Xanadu lunch box! She was my first and greatest celebrity crush of all time! I still can't believe she's gone. I hope you're at peace, ONJ.
Olivia and John sang a duet called Dare to Dream to the athletes at the opening ceremony of the 2000 Olympic Games in Sydney. They sang as they walked through the athletes on the field of the the main stadium.
John originally recorded this in his Little River Band days (it's a Graham Goble tune), but it wasn't released on any of his 3 albums with them, only coming out on a rarities compilation after he'd left to return to his solo career. He clearly thought highly enough of it to make it a mainstay of his gigs for many years. Reminds me we need to get you listening to more LRB both with and without John one of these years!
@@rickandersen2284 AH, if only you'd stopped after your first sentence there, that would have been an interesting bit of info about a version I didn't know about from the year I was born (as opposed to the LRB version I grew up listening to). But that additional sentence merely informs us all that you've left a key letter off the front of your name. Shame.
Tightrope is fantastic, hadn't heard for a while but as a one off I love Showdown, early doors and unusual for ELO but gets me every time.....I do realise that Tightrope won the vote and fair play, dig it myself but just to lob in an opion....great channel guys 👍
Always love hearing others opinions and we for sure dont claim to be right I promise haha. And I think I have more typos with technology then I ever had before so I get it!
Thank you, The "Freedom" album is a fantastic album, I picked it up in late 89, and it started my new interest with Neil, from that point on, all of the Young albums became 'Must check out' through the mid 90s. Neil had a moderate hit in 1988 with the Bluenotes album, and that lead to his resurgence in the 90s. I love both tracks, but I do love the bass line and guitar riff in "No More", but willing to agree that 'Eldorado' is a stronger song. There's very few duds on the "Freedom" album, recommended. Also remember that the Crosby, Stills, Nash & Young album "American Dream" album came out in 1988, so he was kind of set up for a comeback.
A Jimmy Barnes Cold Chisel hit Flame trees, which was based on his small country town in Australia. (GOULBURN)IT really is a great song.I enjoy your reactions, and I do realise that JIM was a missed opportunity for most western countries. THANX for your reactions darl'n
ONJ and John were great mates, had been since their 20's. John was devastated when she passed. This series of concerts was organised to get Olivia and Anthony Warlough back on stage after both of them had gone through their own battles with cancer. The concerts were sell outs.
ZERO idea what you are talking about. Do you mean you watched the Vimeo video and you thought I cut the songs short OR do you mean that you didn't listen to the intro where I share the music wont be in the video BUT full reaction is on VIMEO (which we pay for so you can see the whole video) or read the description where the link is close to the top?
Yes! These are two of my favorite 70s songs! Excellent choices. Between these two songs in a battle, they're both incredible but I give the edge to "Southern Man." I might have picked Betty Davis's "Anti Love Song" ahead of both, though. :D
CCR, my 2nd favorite band off all time (behind Maiden) and this is indeed a great song! I will admit that Mardi Gras is not a good album as a whole. Tom left the band and Doug and Stu insisted on writing and singing a few songs each. While not bad songs, they just don't really sound like Creedence songs.
I love this performance. John is powerfull, yet still hokds back to let Olivia shine as you said. He is even courteous enough to turn his head on those high belts so he doesn't blow livvie's eardrums!! The chemistry between them is so beautifull..a friendship through the decades.
John is the GOAT. He can sing any genre better than anyone. Do yourself a favor and check out - John Farnham - When The War Is Over (Live) [The Last Time: Melbourne 2003] when john was 54. It will blow you away. Great reaction thanks
Beautiful heartfelt reaction. I must have watched this a dozen times and still can’t take my off them both. They are telling a story as if acting in a movie. John & Livy sing together quite a bit, especially in this full concert called - The Main Event -.which is on RU-vid, also with our Anthony Warlow, which is on RU-vid . The 3 mix & match, song alone. Anthony is an opera singer who teaches John opera in the concert 😊. It’s brilliant.
