"Cinco Changüiseros" is a channel all about Changüí - the traditional dance party music of Guantánamo Province, Cuba. Today's Salsa music and dance branched out from the vibrant tradition of Cuban Son. And, it is said that Changüí is the mother of the Son. In December of 2004, two novice filmmakers travelled to Eastern Cuba to study and document Changüí. By knocking on doors and making new friends, some of today's best Changüí musicians gladly gave interviews in their homes and performed in intimate settings. In this way, five central changüiseros shared their personal stories and illuminated the nature of this frequently mentioned, yet seldom understood music and dance form. The full length documentary film "Cinco Changüiseros" that resulted from this journey is an up close and personal journey to Guantánamo where the Changüí is alive and well. Es interesante como el changui y el son montuno ,.evolucionan de formas diferentes en un mismo suelo habanero oriental uno sé traslada a la zona occidental y es muy acojido siguiendo su propio camino y evolucion este es el son montuno y el otro el changuí prevalese en la zona de guntamerá o guntanamo tomando su propio estilo unico que lo hace diferente a su hermano .,el changui es tipico de hombre de la montáña ese que alegra sus bembes y comparsas a el ritpmo del tres cubano ejecutado por el melodioso changuisero que en una base ripmica tumbao pronucia en las cuerdas del tres lo que a su vez canta ,.las parejas que ejecutan el baile lo hacen de forma eleganta y ritpmica siendo el hombre quien lleva el mando y la mujer la sutileza y calides bailable donde ninguno hacen alzada de sus pies si no mas bien los deslisan y se mueben sin contones de cintura pero si elegantes siguiendo la melodia del changui en las maracas ,tres cubano ,.el guayo y el bongo antaño cadente de afinacion pronuciando tonos graves en la cincopatia la cual rompe el silencio ripmico con tonos asentuados en la basé del changuí ....
