Sal is a simple guy with limited experience in car repairing and is trying to learn something new and bring some fun to your screen. Let’s be honest, you do not need any background in car mechanics, electrical, or paint and bodywork. All you need is the will to try and some support from people you do not know who share the same passion 😊.
Thank you for tuning into my channel as I walk the long path of car fixing, trouble shooting, and lots and lots of unknowns. Yes, this journey will probably involve more car breaking than fixing.
the blinker housing completes the electrical circuit FYI. one good thing BMW did :). another good thing, the steering cover. you dont have to remove the airbag is really something good. what you know, they know their shit loll
@@EmilyHarris-v2p I tend to agree with you.but the is, I did not install any led lights and made sure to use correct bulbs. So it could also mean the switch itself is faulty. I will need to investigate that a bit more
you are getting better wrapping things. good work. for the lights, check the fuse box and if still nothing, this could be due to voltage issue. if the light bulb is LED for example, this will throw a code. get Carly code reader, it has function to override that. @carly
Why bmw always likes to complicate things ?😅 you practically removed the front just to replace a $10 part lolll. But good on you for doing it yourself. Came a long way from when first got it
$8 to be exact loll. tbh, I was doubtful it will get fixed, I swear I thought my work will be for nothing. but at least, we got it fixed. now we need to turn our focus to the roof top and this light emoji ...
I am so sorry, I have been busy with the BMW and tbh, I only managed to get the wiring for the passenger side seat. I do apologize for the delay. the plan is, finish the paint and then can work on the seat. I promise, I will get to it soon
if we are talking about same color or close to it, then 2 cans is more than enough. for the base. for clear you will need another two. if another color that is lighter, like from blue to white, I would say have 3 cans
I got lucky and found it on FB marketplace. mind you, the OEM one known to brake so upgrade will be better option. main issue with AC controls. me personally, I got lucky and needed to keep the car looking OEM
doubt it. I did not change the pump so it should be plug and play. I am leaning into physical issue. something is stuck or preventing it from opening . will diagnose more
try and manually open it then try again. it could be stuck or something preventing it from fully open. run the error code again and see. and lastly, check the motor again to see if any leak
@hotrodgreg504 first, you need to remove the backrest. Once that is out of the way, you will see two bolts one on each side. If I remember correctly, they should be either 8mm or 10mm. Remove them and the head rest can be removed
when I opened it the first time, I noticed the latch does not close, so I replaced that. I also replaced the open/close handle as noticed some minor rust. but both would not prevent it from opening. so I guess I got lucky and erasing the code worked :)
I thought the same thing, either fuse or relay. but looking at your motor, good thing you changed it. maybe you should have changed the whole unit. there is some rust on it too. really good work.
thank you for watching, while there was surface rust, it did not impact the actual pump. so good for now. the pump cost a lot so good thing did not get it :)
@saltherookie as the roof opened but not fully retracted to it's place, i doubt electrical. Either something stuck in the rail preventing it from fully seated or it needed to be reprogrammed. You did change the moter so maybe Try it few times. I know you said the fluid seemed ok, but worth checking again. In case you got leak.
@@hondajunky when it worked, did not hear anything getting stuck so I tend to agree being electrical issue. will run the diagnosing tool and try another shot

@@carlyturner-z6j no, not at all. This is designed for leather seats. Check their website and reviews too. I used them for my skyline seats and I trust their product
actually, it is on my to do list. I have already been looking for good quality carplay unit that looks OEM and still comparing. as for the reverse camera, Yes I will. but I need to fix the rooftop first. feel free to send recommendation
thank you for this easy to follow step by step process. I came across your channel by accident and now I am hooked. I cant wait to see the final result
I love it. Looks amazing. This car is the gift that keeps on giving loll. Use those $8 and buy yourself a coffee. You have earned it sir. Time to focus on the roof top
the more you work on the interior, the more you need to deal with your centre console . it does look out of place now loll. I love your simple, cheap and easy fix ups, they do make the car look more sporty and surely add value to you. your tasty mods are the right stuff
How did you get the matching color ? did you have to provide VIN # and they matched it , because your car was originally black seat. the match is SPONT ON...
@mitchelhardy I did not actually. If you go to Clyde's website, you'll see the pictures they have for the red are actually from a bmw. So I took a gamble and turned out just fine 😀
Wrapping is never easy and to do this good of a job is nothing short of amazing. Especially when it's your first time. Respect for being honest with your work.
you should disconnect the battery before unplug the seats. otherwise, you will have airbag light. but looking at the wiring, I am surprised you did not have the airbag light on to start with. your step by step is really handy. those back seat headrests and pain to remove.
technically you are right, it would have been better if I did disconnect before. but as I was fixing the wiring, I needed to know if my work is heading in the right direction. code reader can fix and clear those codes so not too worried :)
@user-ip5ok1yi8m I sure do. Loll.nah, that one is new seat arrangement. At least with this one, it's more of same wiring. But I get you, time to dust up and work on that too
No wonder your seats did not work. I think the jumper pack would have worked, use wire tester to see the power/ground and you should be able to get the motor working. but then again, your method works too.
