Mr.Charlie Brown in Baltimore with Belula LaMont the Hippo. THE SHIRLEY MADISON INN THE MANY TIMES YOU CAME TO BALTIMORE, WHAT A CLASS ACT ALWAYS WERE HEAVEN JUST GOT THERE DRAG ON!!!
I am a former resident of Atlanta. This is so sad. I shed a tear. I was there in the late 80's and early 90's. I used to go to Baitys, Petrus, Eagle and the Color Box. I am sorry I never went to the Amsterdam. Love you all!!
It was through drag time I discovered Charlie Brown and been a fan since. Never got a chance to see her in person. Thank god for RU-vid. Rest in glamour Charlie 😭😭💔💔💔💔💔
Truly a brilliant and beautiful tribute. I knew many queens just like Charlie here in WV in the late 90s early 2000s. I tell you these queens today have some huge high hills to fill. These gals were truly legendary.
What an international legacy. As someone from Ohio who traveled through Georgia and landed in Hollywood, it is an honor to watch a tribute to such a person who impacted our entire community. Rest in peace love!
Back in the 90s, I was a young gay 20-something. I learned the first time I watched her at Backstreet that you do not sit on the edge of the stage while she was performing. Lesson learned. How I miss the 90s.
Stefan, you do some of the most amazing filming work in this city. Where we need the cameras, you show up. Thank you so much for keeping Charlie’s memory alive, as well as the contents of this event and so much more. ♥️
So glad to stumble across this. She was one of my first drag obsessions and I just worshipped her back in the 80's when I went to Sweet Gum Head. I framed a picture of her and put it on my dresser!!! I remember her glittered lips when I would go up and worship her. RIP.
Rest in peace Charlie. I worked at Backstreet/Charlie Brown's cabaret in the early 90s, what a great experience of friends and family. Thanks for all the love and laughs!
I had the honor of knowing Charlie when she came to my home town to perform. Several years later, I was at Backstreet and was immediately greeted by Charlie in her own distinct way. She never forgot a face and was gracious to all. Bless her!!!
This kinda remindsn me of this one time in college where I'd been awake for 72 hours straight and started to see what I can only describe as shadow people. They moved in a really creepy, eerie way. Then all the sudden one of them just started dancing?
Rest in peace Mr Charlie Brown. From Sydney Australia 😢 saw you on HBO drag time 1997 and followed you ever since! Only yesterday I was watching you on Phil Donahue and then today this celebration of life popped up of your passing I had no idea. 😢 Sweet Dreams 🇦🇺
Later we found out Rosie had a crush on Elizabeth and was part of the reason she left. Elizabeth mentioned in an interview a few years later that finding out about the crush grossed her out, lol.
As a Republican who for the record is not a Trumper. I love my country not a person. I have nothing against Rosie & Elizabeth is quite an ineptoid who makes Republican's look stupid as Biden does for Democrats. However Elizabeth is right on 1 point. It's not her or anyone else's responsibility to defend Rosie's or someone else's comments that they make. The person making the comment needs to defend their own comments or if they can't defend them on their own they need to shut the fuck up & not say it. Democrats & Republicans will never agree which is the way it's supposed to be which why is they aren't the same parties. That's also why we are the best country in the world & don't just have 1 party which would make us no differnet than China/North Korea etc if we only had 1 party. So they need to work together to compromise & come up with ideas/solutions that are best for the USA /its people but all that's happening now is fighting btw parties or worse fighting within their own parties. But this was extremely amusing all around which is why I keep coming back to watch the shit show unfold 😂😂😂😂😂
So sad to hear this, but grateful that you shared it. I was entertained by this wonderful person for many years in Atlanta! I believe that the first time I saw Charlie Brown was at the Sweet Gum Head off of Cheshire Bridge Road in Atlanta (1978-79), and later at BackStreet. There were also appearances at Pride Parades in Atlanta in the early 80's. He was so inspirational to those of us who had just recently come out. May he rest in peace.
Rest in peace, Charlie Brown thanks for being nice to me. When I first moved to Atlanta and I was a loss. Soul met him in the laundromat told him I had just moved to Atlanta. I didn’t understand what female impersonation was. I didn’t even know what it was told me everything was gonna be fine.
