Got a Pilot HMT 'fully serviced'. It ran fine for the first two days - about 35 hours reserve. Then on Day 3 it stopped after about 10 hours. From there it went downhill. Day 7, fully wound up, watch will regularly stop after only 2 hours - i would wind-up one turn to full, it restarts then stops again after 2 hours. Always test for several days. I asked for refund on Ebay but how do I prove the watch stops intermittently? Even linking a RU-vid video in the refund email, I cannot show the watch just stops at some point.
Sir can you please let me know the dimnsions of the clock And especially the the ratio like for a board of the x size we need a particular size (let y) of spiral. Can you let me know the dimensions
Sir, can you explain how to adjust the clock if it's running slow or fast? I guess the lever at the bottom is for that purpose but how much correction to be given?
Following your excellent video disassembly on a Bifora watch made it so easy working on my Bifora watch - many thanks. I have some information for you which I discovered during disassembly - the crown wheel screw you found difficult to unscrew actually turns clockwise to undo. It is not a conventional anticlockwise turn to undo.
Thank you very much for your explanation and demonstration! The video is really helpful so that people will find easy to repair quartz clock moments if it did not function or update quartz clock moments from ticking motion to smooth sweeping motion. Please upload the difference in motors of both types of quartz clock moments in the next video.
Hi I have a working condition HES clock . Where can I get it serviced. I live in ambala. Please let me know as it's my grandmother's clock and I love it very much
Hi, I have kinzle duo alarm clock and I try to fix it but I can't put back the key now. Can you please help me. Also the alarm clock never works but when I tried to open it it started rinning and now it's not rinnging. Plz help me I want to fix this clock
No matter what i do, the balance wheel doesn't rotate at all, tried all possible ways changed balance wheel and blowed and yet it doesn't come to life, what to do?
Try rotating it with the tweezers gently. Do you feel any resistance? If yes, the roller jewel may not be seated in right position while installing. Another thing to check is, assemble the balance without lever, and see if it swings freely
I think you are referring to the hairspring. It's better to buy the whole balance assembly. If you are in Bangalore, I can provide details of few shops who sell it.
@@ullasu1788 Thank you sir. I have been trying to contact various sellers on Indiamart with descriptions and pictures. The original spring was corroded and broke into powder pieces while disassembly. I have assembled the whole mechanism as per your video, but the spring is needed. Please provide me the details of the shops that sell it so that I can purchase the hairspring or the balance wheel cum hairspring.
Very good demonstration - I am going to attemp to dismantle an old Bifora watch. Just one point, you did ask for comments, I think clocks have ‘hands’ but watches have ‘fingers’.
I have a similar clock, I think its the same with just a different face design, my grandmother gave it to my sister few years ago but idk what my sister did but it just stopped working, I kept it with myself for a few years now as I couldnt trust my sister with it, I have opened it up but dont see any damage. When shaken the clock will work for a few seconds and sometimes for a few minutes, so I think cleaning should work as there is a little dust in there, when I kept it stored away it was fully winded and still seems to be the same, do you think that could affect the winding coil? also any suggestions on how to clean the gears and which oil to use, I'll just keep it disassembled till then. Update: The disassembly didnt go well, I couldnt remove the minute hand so I continued removing gears from the back without removing it, turned out to be a bad idea as it made the seconds hand deformed and bringing it back to shape made some of the paint coating fall off, i was able to put everything bad together, so all I did was just ruin the face of the watch and cut my hand for no reason, anyone else thinking of this please don't, just take it to a professional rather than risk damage to an important item.
I do put a disclaimer in every videos for the same reason, if you do work on a heirloom, you most likely end up causing one damage or the other, if it's your first time. I learnt after making many such mistakes, and am at a position where I'm confident enough now, to work on something important to me or someone. Don't worry though, all's not lost. If you still like to restore it, I can recommend a few places in Bangalore. Replacement hands are not impossible to find, and if it's a metal dial, you may be able to undo some damage too. To clean, usually kerosene, petrol, or some commercially available watch cleaning solutions are also used. You can message me with pictures on 9686951979, and I'll try to help to the best extant. The clock in this video is my grandfather's, and I understand how it feels if something happens to it. Sorry for late reply though, was busy with work
It's better to take it to a good watch mechanic. I can recommend a few places in Bangalore. If you are not from here, I can atleast guide you with general info on what can be done. If you want to learn, I would highly recommend buying scrap clocks to work on
I used a flat cutter/ end cutter to tighten them as I did not have the right tool back then. A right sized spanner should be the best. About the mainspring, you can get it in chickpet. You can message me on 9686951979 and I'll share the contact details of few shops there
Thank you. Nothing like that. As I have mentioned in the description, due to my studies, I had to take a break. I will continue making videos on watches ASAP.
