I hope the new school won't be too loud for the houses that will be right behind it. Were the people that live there put into consideration? Were they asked their opinions?
Its funny hearing about how great Cortrans is, and then Martha Hooker asking about work transportation. Its called public transportation. Just fund Rapid Bus Transit and more frequent bus routes over a larger network.
I work for my local municipality. I wish the trucks were that clean when I work on them. And they run them into the ground and ask when it will be done. It’s silly.
It makes me proud that i was the first Cadet Command Senior Chief Petty Officer for the WBHS NNDCC, I still remember that ceremony like it was yesterday, i really miss that program, it was my favorite part about my high school years
I’m so glad I watched your video. The wife and I are hiking to McAfee knob next month and when I looked into the shuttle, I found out the parking lot at the trailhead is closed. You probably saved me a giant headache of driving out there in the wee hours only to have nowhere to park.
This is so cute 😊 I started reading at a young age and I’m now in my 20s. I’m still obsessed! Love the work you guys are doing as librarians <3 keep helping the future generation of little learners ❤️
So this quite literally happened to me Monday morning… We normally always lock our vehicles, but two vehicles were left in the driveway and at 6:10 AM with plenty of light in young homeless kid on a bike came by and checked both doorhandles and after about three minutes, he escaped with some walkie-talkies… I caught it all on a ring camera and recognize the kid who is often seen at a local park… after waiting 20 minutes for police to show up and nothing… I just approached him myself and demanded back my property. He was sheepish and sorry. Sorry he got caught. Lock the doors
These are great because now when I want to go to Mcdonalds, Diary Queen, or Chipotle I will just stay home since now I have to cut through 4 lanes of traffic and get on 460 where today I do not even get on 460. All they talked about was getting people from getting on 460 to cut down on traffic yet every single thing makes me have to now get on 460 more and drive in a more dangerous situations of cutting through 2 lanes of traffic to get on a "r cut" to then cut through 2 more lanes of traffic. Its like they just tried to spend money on road improvements to make things worse. Compare 2026 traffic accidents on 460 to today and prove me wrong in a few years. Your killing people with these changes....or maybe the reduced fast food spending will save more people. not sure, that would be hard to compare.
Drivers will in large part ignore these features especially if the lanes are still 11'+ which results in higher speeds. This should have been a table top crossing that forces drivers to reduce speed. Theres also no trees along the sidewalks so it will be unpleasant to try and walk there. Zoning also means everything is spread over miles making it less and less walkable.
