Chris has such a beautifully unique voice. Was shocked when masked singer judges didnt recignize his voice but its cool he made it to the end as runner up. ❤ this new song 'artificial' is such a banger. 🤘🏼 r.i.p. to his daughter too. I'm late to these things; so sad.
Yees indeed. So many covers are just that.....covers. Exactly the same. Usually I cringe when I listen to covers. But then there are a few artists who add their own touch to it, add different parts to the song, they make the song their own and that's not easy to do I guess. I only like a few covers and I don't call them covers, I rather call it their versions, like you did in the interview
This was a great interview! I first saw Daughtry back in 2007 in Orlando at Hard Rock. I saw them about 20 more times after that over a 10 year period. I’ve met them and chatted numerous times with Chris, Josh, and Brian. They are fantastic guys! I’m so glad they’re still rockin and doing so well.
Lol gave up what? Being in the background and performing other people’s music? He was named one of the top and most well known basses of all time last year (based on his solo work). Not exactly obscurity.
There's a great album out called UNPRECEDENTED preformed by the real UB40, with Ali Campbell who founded UB40 & bought all instruments with is compo pay out.👍
Avi is my first choice in music composition, instrumentalist and singing. I am so thankful his entire being is healing and able to present himself to the world.
I can’t stand him now. It is low and dark. It is disappointing. Good he is happy. Bummer I can’t get into it. He is talented. Just not enough to keep me as a fan. He doesn’t need me, obviously. I think there is a reason he didn’t solo much formally, his voice didn’t fit in with the others. The chemistry vocally was best as a base. It is particularly obvious, since Matt ( new bass) in ptx sings regularly. More versatile then Avi vocally as far as his range. I smile now as he says he talks about doing covers, yup those are still in ptx, so is writing their own music. So is them all having solo interests and careers. Doesn’t sound like he misses ptx; so all the power to him. Wish him well. Not my cup of tea. I don’t enjoy his interviews. The coy shade he tosses on what gave him his start, his chance to “come home home” and even do solo with any success is tacky. All my opinion. I am fine if you don’t agree. Leave it on the page please. I’ve read the glowing reviews here too. I am great agreeing to disagree, and have no desire to be shit on by huge fans, as I didn’t single anyone out. @Avi Kaplan no. You are a very talented guy, just not the music I tend to enjoy. You do seem like you’re happy, and that is a beautiful thing. I have a wonderful friend and his wife who sing bluegrass and folk music. Her voice is strong and sultry different vibe. She actually pair well with you. Mike sings harmony; you are all power and projection ( the double note thing is awesome) so is her voice. Do your thing to be happy. I wish you all the best. May you become king of your music story.
I have absolutely loved you Avi, since Pentatonix, where I first heard you sing. I was so sad when you left, but listening to all your music since you left, well I still love your singing, and your music! I'm happy for you, that you are following your dream now.
