Hello recent viewer and sub here! I never learned to drive a manual truck. I used to work for Amazon and when they sent us to CDL school we had to learn in an auto and take our test in an auto. That’s the funny part. I’m supposed to have the auto restriction but for some odd reason the DMV didn’t print it on my license. So my question is, could I find someone to teach me?
Thanks you for getting out to re-check your sides, to keep you from hitting something. With the day cab, you have a shorter wheelbase and better manuverability, so why not slide your trailer tandems full to the rear?? With tandems fully forward, there's a lot of overhang on your tail end/blindside, making it easier to hit something on your blind side. Just a suggestion, trying to help and not trying to brow beat ya driver. Happy Trails. "Eagle Claw", on da flip!
Retired after 37 years local LTL driver. Take care of those shoulders pulling fifth wheel pins and cranking landing gear. Tore my Roto Cuff and needed complete reverse surgery after I retired. Be careful out there.

This is NOTHING like LTL I did 20 years. LTL local delivery is hard work. You might have 15 stops a day, and then start picking up in the afternoon, and maybe work outbound on the dock until 9pm. Many stops are inside deliveries, with your little trusty hand truck. We started at 6am, loading our trailers with the incoming freight from the night before. Hit the road at 9ish, and busted ass to get empty by 2pm, to start the pickups. In summer, winter, hot, cold, and no a/c in the Volvo day cabs either. Its hard, dirty work, but honest and rewarding work too. Well paid for a job well done. I surely dont miss it. Get a drop and hook terminal to terminal job. Work smart, not hard.
Appreciate your videos, I’m interested in trucking as I’m burnt out from working with people in a office setting and also just feeling better from a working injury since 2020. Your video is calm, level headed and reassuring. I have this Schneider Training Academy study guide I got from my cousin on trucks n trailers, not sure what the process is on getting into trucking school or what books to read. But I know this what I want to do, these videos keep me motivated keep pushing forward on learning everything about tractor n trailer. Appreciate your positive energy especially going to something new going on 44yrs old
hey thanks for watching the purpose of my videos are for guys like you this is a great job with security and what I like most about trucking is there is no ne over your shoulder watching you all you have to do is just make sure you deliver for freight on time if you have any more questions just drop me a message. just call around like prime swift and schneider now I don't know if you have to come there already with your cdl permit if not I know they help you get good luck and thanks for subscribing to my channel.
never be afraid to reset a set up, hell i've had to make a few laps for a good set up, rather get it right than hit sumthin (hard enough to do damage, a lil bump n scrape aint gonna hurt a trailer)
Once you’re in the hole just pull up as far as you can and chase the trailer, I see u pulling up to much to correct which is good but u only needed one pull up to correct that’s all.! Also Good job getting out and look most people don’t and hit something! Protect your CDL and your job buddy keep it up 👍
Whoever even did this video and thought that was difficult with a day cab truck is no truck driver. I agree with that comment on "now try that with a truck with a sleeper on it. That is done all the time with a yard dog. There's little difference in difficulty.
Well, I made the video, and for you to say I'm no truck driver, " is hilarious to me, lol. I love the hate comments. Keep them coming, and I probably have more experience than you, but you be great
Great job, bro. I remember when I used to work for Sysco, it was difficult to back with a daycab. I don't know why, but it was for me. But you did really well.
