What kind of clear are you using? Definitely want to try it out but need to know the final coat is definitely going to be up to par or can I use my normal 2 part clear coat?
Great video! Getting back into ABing, and interested in knowing what you use for practice paper. See the roll of paper in background, what is it? What other choices to practice on?
The roll of paper is to test spray before applying paint to the actual project. Itis not for practice, rather to make sure the airbrush or spray gun is working properly each time before applying a color. Thank you.
@@CreatexColors what is an inexpensive practice paper? I am using pieces of cardboard, copy paper doesn’t work. Tried coating cardboard with matte medium, not good results. How about brown packaging paper? I am envious of your work, practice, practice, right!
Being new to airbrushing this video was very helpful. This info was very much needed, the guy at the hobby shop said no thinning was needed & mentioned nothing about the needle size. Thanks!!!
Ciao. Puoi dirmi la differenza sostanziale tra i colori Createx Illustretor e Createx Airbrush Color? Nessuno mi ha ancora risposto e spero che Voi possiate farlo. Grazie
Createx Illustration Colors are made with a sub-micron sheer sized acrylic resin for refined atomization, whereas Createx Airbrush Colors are made with a larger sheer size of an acrylic resin that is also softer making it better for application to textiles & fabric. Both are made with lightfast pigments. Thank you.
Great video. Very complete information Question…..I have both Silver Sealer and 6001 White Sealer. I paint fishing lures (hard plastic). They are typically coated first with opaque white to make the subsequent colors more vivid. One of the problems we run into is the baits may get scratched when adding a mesh mask over the top. If White Sealer is this tough, is there any reason I should not be using it? Also I’ve added Candy2O to silver sealer to get very vivid metallics. Any reason to not do this? Your videos are excellent because there is no long lead in, no blaring music, and you are straight forward but cover details. Thx
6001 AutoBorne Sealer White is a clean white which makes a good base to apply graphics over. Yes, candy2o can be mixed with 6013 Silver Sealer. You may find the color is easier to apply evenly / uniformly by adding some 4050 UVLS Gloss Clear to the 6013 Silver Sealer & candy2o mix. for more assistance, please email us at info@createxcolors.com. Thank you.
How about using these for polycarbonate? In a previous video you recommended the 4050 mixed with paints for adhesion. How about using the 6000 for the same purpose if I wanted to use a smaller tip, would that work the same without needing to be over reduced?
For polycarbonate (Lexan), neither 4050 nor 6000 is required as Createx Airbrush Colors and Wicked Colors adhere excellent when applied direct. Add 4030 Balancing Clear 10% per volume to Createx paints to improve adhesion and durability but not increase viscosity. 4030 Balancing Clear is a urethane clear. 6000 can also be added, but if doing so onto a flexible RC car, limit adding 6000 at 105 per volume to paint as it is a much stiffer/ harder acrylic resin. Thank you.
@@CreatexColors I just did a little test on some lexan with your wicked colors compared to proline and it did seem like the wicked colors adhered better than the proline slightly doing a fingernail test. Thanks for confirmation
Were most of these 2 parts 4050 1 part color payload (autoborne black & red/silver/gold)? It was a little unclear as first was mentioned 2-1 Color & 4050 and after a clarication of 2-1 4050 and color.
Hey Chris! Thank you for the educational video! I have a job where I’m looking for an acrylic high gloss to touch up damaged wood and am unable to spray. Is it feasible to hand brush this product?
candy2o blood Red was applied first. It was mixed 4050 UVLS Gloss Clear 6:1 candy2o Blood Red. Then candy2o Black was applied, again mixed 4050 6:1 candy2o Black. Thank you.
Bonjour, àvec un aerographe paasche vl 0.55.... double action est il possible de faire des t shirts , auriez vous un aerographe à pe conseiller, merci d'avance.
Real fire can be done on a white car or any color, but the finished result will look much different. Please make a test panel first. Perhaps making realistic looking blue flames (with some teal) will work better for a white base. Thank you.
I mix one part Tequila Yellow with two parts Silver Sealer. Obviously use it with UVLS. Makes an EXTREMELY vibrant gold. I’m going to experiment with other candies also. Since the candy is a dye rather than paint it keeps most of the silver shine Love your videos. Concise and informative
Great videos, especially for beginners like me! @14.32 you mentioned “like a white candy”. Is there a white candy? If not how can I reduce to make the opaque white like a candy! Thanks
There is not a white dye color made by Createx. Over-reducing W030 Wicked Opaque White with new 4021 Reducer would work best for a very translucent white color. Thank you.
Thanks for info. In a wheelchair and do bad ass jobs on chairs. Thanks to videos such as yours. Made things so easy. I’m watching your stuff from 3 years ago. Anyways thanks for demos, so helpfully!!!
I've struggled with metallics quite a bit during my ten years of painting, due to a lack of proper training in the booth. I'm finally getting better results thanks to videos like this. The next one I do I'll use this technique and air adjustment and see how it goes....
Yes, Createx paints are compatible with a wide variety of clear types, including lacquer (i.e. nitrocellulose lacquer clears). For candy2o and automotive paintjobs, a catalyzed (2k) solvent-based urethane clear is recommended. Before the actual paintjob, please make a test panel comparing a lacquer vs. a 2k urethane final top-coat. Thank you.
To protect the customized t-shirt, after the paint has dried, heat set the paint, which makes the paint washfast, meaning it will not lose color when washed (avoid bleach detergent). For additional protection, a light coat of two of either Createx 5603 Matte Top Coat or 5604 Gloss Top Coat help protect against scratches, etc. For more, please refer to our t-shirt and flexible substrate application guide available at www.creatextech.com. Thank you.
While Illustration colors can be sprayed directly from the bottle through a 0.18mm Micron, best spray performance is achieved by reducing the paint a little bit as the alcohol in Createx 4011 Reducer (and new 4021 Reducer) helps eliminate surface tension and tip-dry which improves flow and leveling. With a micron, psi is anywhere from ~ 10 to 20. Thank you.
so with the drop coat... Do you leave the paint 5-10 mins to flash off, before doing the drop coat?! Or do you do it while the paint is still "open"? cheers
Showing up late to the game, as usual…lol…. Now, what’s with all the hate towards bass boat flake? Hahahaaa….us old guys love the excessive metal flake. Great job on showing the differences. Thanks man!
Love the Paint. One thing I always wonder about what if , God forbid. there’s a small fender-bender which requires a partial respray? I’m talking about the job of matching and the extra cost to the insurance. Just saying…….
Here is my address if you want to or.can help me with anything 2966 slate Creek Rd Grundy Virginia 24614 because I have nothing but time to work on these hobbies that I work on an I am getting into painting an I have yellow an black of your paint an it sprays great right out of the bottle so thank you
