Trae isn't a championship level player. Trading for him takes the ball away from ant I'm not risking ant on a guy who couldn't even make it work with Murray
Run it back, I think they were just outcoached they had the lead the first 4 games the squandered it in the last 5 minutes. Replace NAW with a good shooter. dude did nothing all series. Trae Young for KAT Hell no.. Trae Young is trash.
Terrible trade for ATL and KOC you are a Trae hater anywhere he plays. Also if you'd done your research you'd know that Trae is fine being a number 2. He said it at his exit interview this season. I should have know a Ringer podcast would s*#t on Trae and the Hawks, so predictable.
Lmfao I love how people think trading for Young who has proven years of his own teammates hating him would make your franchise better….yeah that’s the goal get smaller on offense and worse on defense but “unlock” Gobert as a lob threat
Would love to see Kat traded for a PG who can score/facilitate that will also allow Conley to come off the bench which makes your bench better. I also, wouldn’t mind dealing Gobert. Doesn’t have to be for anyone special yet a center that can actually catch/hold onto the ball and commit to cleaning the glass. Rudy is good defensively but doesn’t grab boards the way he should at his size and is quite literally like playing 4 on 5 on offense
I have the perfect Karl Anthony Towns trade. KAT to Houston for Fred Van Vleet, Tari Eason and a 2028 protected 1st round pick. Why would Minnesota do the trade: Minnesota has Naz Reid to do most of what KAT can do. They also have young bigs in Miller and Garza that would be ready to play some rotation minutes. As to what they get in the trade, Van Vleet gives them a starting PG that can play a complimentary role while moving Conley to a key bench role. Eason gives them a versatile forward to help with defense and rebounding. The draft pick will give another young cheap option down the road. While remaining very competitive this also solves their financial crunch. Minnesota would not need to re-sign Morris or Anderson. then the biggest part is Van Vleet on a team option you would have negotiating power to re-sign him to a lower number or trade him in a year. Why would Houston do the trade: KAT gives them the perfect big to team with Sengun and Jabari. He can provide spacing when teamed with Sengun and bulk when teamed with Jabari. They could replace Van Vleet with the #3 pick (say Reed Sheppard), sign a veteran back up like Tyus Jones or even Monte Morris as well as give Amen Thompson some time as a point forward. Eason is replaceable by young forwards such as Thompson, Brooks, Whitmore. You could decline the team options on Tate and/or Jeff Green to save money.
Im sorry, I don’t see Trae Young as a fit for any team trying to win a championship. Until he improves his defensive effort, shot selection and decision making he is not a guy I’d want if I was in a contending team
“Have u ever seen Trae Young differ to anybody??” I’d argue he’s never played with anybody worth differing to. I think he and ANT would mesh well personality wise, and Trae gets to walk into an immediate title contender.
As a wolves fan im down with trading Kat but not for trae if trae couldn't play with Murray who needs the ball alot less then ant how is he gonna make it work with ant ? Definitly think Kat is traded at some point this summer I dont see it being for a guy like trae probably trade him for a forward or maybe a pg who doesn't need the ball constantly to make a impact . only with all the elite guards in the West trading for a traffic cone even with as many good defenders as minnesota has would be a questionable move . trae would be fun in theory I just dont think he makes the wolves better simply because he will be taking the ball out of ants hands alot with his hyjacking the offense to take terrible halfcourt 3s for no reason lol
I said that as a joke and maybe it's these scorchin medium bbq pringles talkin but............ I kinda like this for MN?! I know it's "a weak draft" but you start Trae, NAW, McDaniels, KAT, Gobert, you got Conley, Naz Reid and whoever you take at #1 on the bench You can still try to move KAT for lots of dudes or just keep him, maybe even try some Trae, McDaniels, KAT, Naz Reid, Gobert lineups, just silly stuff, lobs all over the place Because I bet this season is the peak for this iteration of the Minnesota Timberwolves. I bet they finish behind Memphis next year if Ja is back healthy and motivated And if you can't sustain success, Ant is GONE anyway so why not pounce, send him home, surely he'd be thrilled to be the man in Georgia, Hawks fans would be thrilled. If they love Trae's confidence, they'll need a wet wipe when they have Ant. And then, maybe #1 turns into a real player? It's crazy but successful teams have been broken up before
I think the point is for LeBron to go to one of those teams though. Join Embiid and Maxey in Philly who have the cash to sign him. I don't see it happening but I get why it would give him a better chance at another ring than staying in the West with LA
Hard pass for me as a Wolves fan. KAT is essential to the Wolves beating Denver. Without him, they have 0 chance. Naz and Rudy aren't strong enough to hold their own in the post. Granted, having Rudy able to roam is a much different story compared to KAT or Naz, but we saw how hard it was for Naz to hold his ground compared to KAT. Also worth mentioning that even at his advanced age that Conley is STILL a better defender than Trae Young. Not to mention that Mike has been a significantly better 3point shooter over the last 2 years and has plenty of experience doing PnR with Rudy too. All of that combined with his much smaller salary and I would argue that Conley is a better value at his salary than Trae. Not to mention that KAT is a much better career 3 point shooter than Trae himself! Mike is also a low turnover PG compared to Trae that is fine off the ball shooting 3s for Ant's development. Finally, Trae is a lower efficiency offensive player compared to both KAT and Conley. The only upside with him is his lob throwing, playmaking, and maybe shot creation. There is just too much downside for this trade to make sense and very little upside. I hope it doesn't happen unless other pieces are being included for Minnesota
Wolves signed Connelly this season to a team friendly 2 year contract I believe. He'd be a great spot starter, insurance, and bench guy to help keep him fresh.
THANK GOD FOR CHRIS VERNON!!!!! The depth of insight you bring to the table always fills me with such fulfillment knowing someone out there actually understands the weight of each nuance to any given topic. As soon as you started talking, speaking on the shit KAT's had to go through as a Timberwolf, you instantly made me so much happier to be listening. Nobody brings the full, extremely complex road that KAT has gone through to get to the point he''s at today when they discuss him. Thank you Verno for always having such a sharp way of analyzing cause and effect.
Laughable. Trade KAT (Edwards draft, brother)!!! Start printing those ATLANTA HAWKS #5 jerseys now. Minnesota better be the Utah Jazz instead of acting like the Lakers.
