Mr. Alan Clegg. Reality TV Star and father of 6. A while back I owned a professional Home Theater Installation company in San Diego. I always got a ton of questions from friends and family about AV and home automation. As a business owner, I would have to charge people for my time and knowledge. Today I am no longer in the AV industry directly as a business owner but I still have a passion for building and customizing Home Theater Systems so I now have a RU-vid Channel that helps You to Do AV. Listen up! "Butterfly", or, "Boot Patch" That's how you fix a hole like a professional that has no backung.. First, if the hole is round, make it square with a utility knife, and the measure it out. Find a new piece of sheet rock that at least twice the size of your measurements as you leave equal excess on all sides. The idea is to leave the PAPER of the sheet rock intact on the opposite side of the board. Just peal it >>>> that PAPER represents the 'wings' of a "butterfly" >>> and it will be your tape >>>> hence, NO BACKING NEEDED!!! Using All-Purpose mud, just put the plug in the hole, and tape it as if the sheet rock paper was regular tape >>>> now finish it I was a Finishman for 37 years, and that's the only way to do a patch properly that has no backing, and it's done in a 1/4 of the time. It won't crack, btw, cuz it's not a stress point. ["Boot-Patch" = cuz usually it was the same that made the hole] Your Welcome 😎

-- ❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤ John 14:6 KJV, "Jesus saith, I am the WAY, the TRUTH, and the LIFE: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me." 1 Peter 2:24 NIV, "He himself bore our sins in his body on the tree, so that we might die to sins and live for righteousness; by his wounds you have been healed." John 3:16 KJV, "For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life". Romans 3:23-24 NIV, "...for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God, and all are justified by His grace through the redemption that came by Christ Jesus". John 8:12 KJV, "I am the light of the world: he that followeth me shall not walk in darkness, but shall have the light of life". Jesus is the only WAY to God, the TRUTH of salvation, and the Breath/Bread of LIFE. ACCEPT Jesus Christ as your Lord and Saviour. Sins separate us from God because He's Holy. All sins will be forgiven and erased through faith in Christ Jesus. God ♥ you, is alive, merciful, faithful, truthful, and is waiting with His arms wide open FOR YOU! For Jesus did not come to establish a religion, but to become a mediator between God and men. Through the Grace of God, Jesus was given to us by paying the price at the Cross at Calvary. Repent and confess from your heart and through your mouth that you are a sinner in need of a Savior; that He had died for your sins, that He had risen from the dead, and ask that He forgives you and that He comes into your life and become your Lord and Saviour. A sinner cannot save a sinner, only a sinless person can. That sinless Being is Jesus Christ Himself. Through the faith in Christ Jesus, the sick was healed; everywhere He went, He healed the blind, the mute, the deaf, the demon-possessed, raised the dead, as well as performed many miracles; He also walked on water, turned water into wine, calmed the storm with His command, and was raised up from the dead. Miracles are still being seen today! Jesus is our helper, our healer, our refuge/protection, and our strength for when time gets tough. God is standing and knocking at the door waiting for your answer right now because THE KINGDOM OF HEAVEN IS COMING. ❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤

This is a great video. To the point and very helpful, especially if one has a newer model receiver. I have a Yamaha RX-V630 receiver that I have had for a long time. It has excellent sound and I hate to give it up. It does great surround sound and does not have any HDMI, internet or a couple other of the newer ports, some of which have since been deleted. I moved and forgot how I had it set up to play the great surround sound I had. It was great! One of my favorite videos to watch while running the surround sound on it is, Forrest Gump and especially the scene where Forrest is carrying Bubba out of the jungle and the jets do a low fly over dropping napalm. Hearing those jets actually fly over my head was incredible! Do you have a video that explains how to hook up the surround sound on that receiver? It does have optical in and the majority of the speakers need banana clips / plugs. I would love to keep that sound system for as long as it continues to work great. I hope to hear from you one of these days. Thanks!!

I do not have a video showing that specific receiver. It would be tough to do a video for every receiver which is why I tried to make this one as informative as possible. Hopefully, the viewers would be armed with enough info to figure it all out. Best of luck!

My last home, it was prepped for cable in the basement. I asked the builder about an antenna hook up and he said there was no way to do that going from basement through 2 stories and then the attic. This was a custom home, and I found cavities and a conduit going from first to second floor in a cavity. I drilled an 1 1/4” hole in basenment and 2nd floor, dropped a line with a nut for weight and made the connection. I ran my coax to the attic, bought the largest antenna that would fit (20’x18’) and it worked for 14 years. I had a tract home built and paid a plumber to run 2@3” pvc plastic pipes from the attic to the basement. I moved the old antenna (from old home, looked like new, since it was in the attic) and hooked it up in the attic again, used the plastic pipe to get coax from attic to basement then to each room needed in this ranch. I’ve been living in this home 20 years and the antenna works great, it’s 34 years old.

The speakers with red/white connections have amplifiers built into them. You would use the pre-out connection on the receiver, but you're probably looking at more trouble than it's worth.

You can do the test with the ohm setting as well. Touch the meter probes together and look at the reading. That is the same reading you should see when another meter would make a beep.

Big advocate for using fish-socks (aka fish tailz) instead of taping. Never had wire come out of the sock while pulling. You do need to help guide it so it doesnt snag at the initial entry hole. but like I said, no risk of wire coming loose and no tape residue either.

Hi, I have 2 jbl stage A135c center speakers vertical on the wall each side my tv. I also have 3 floor standing speakers in 3 corners, front left front right and back left corner.. I have 2 subs and 2 bookshelf.. my avr reciever denon AVR-X1700H.. I cannot have 1 center speaker above or below my tv so I need help trying to set these up best way possible.. I was thinking about using the back left or front right floorstanding speakers jbl stage A190 as a center? And use surround L/R for both my jbl A135c center speakers. Do you have any suggestions that may help
@AlanCleggYouDoAV
@AlanCleggYouDoAV 5 месяцев назад
You have 2 speakers in the front of the room and three in the back? In my opinion, having a center channel directly above or below the TV is critical as this is the busiest speaker in the set and should represent the sound coming out of the TV. I don't know you're setup, but you might consider getting an in-ceiling speaking speaker or something to put above your tv.
