I own this boat now, it was lipsticked up real pretty when Leaders sold it to a guy in Hudsonville, he sold it to me. It had several mechanical bugs in it which I resolved. It now travels to 7 ports a year in northern Michigan. We average 30 nights a season on it, my wife won't let me get a bigger one because this one does it all, and sips fuel while doing it. My buddies use twice the fuel as my warmed over small block.

How does the owner like having that bow covered in vinyl instead of carpet? Im torn right now on going full vinyl bow, cock pit and aft, or just going vinyl in cockpit and carpet on bow and aft. We have a couple dogs that will be joining us and im thinkikg for ease of cleanup and overall wear and tear
I just bought a 1995 17’ pro select… it was not as well taken care of as this boat was… but Man this boat in excellent shape… I guess mine was rode hard and put away wet.. but I liked the features that Sylvan put into their boats and I felt it was worth a restoration project… I’m half way thru it. I removed a 90 HP 2 cycle Mariner Motor and added a 60 HP Tohatsu. I did have some aluminum degradation in the transom, so repairs were made to minimize their effect. I’ve added zinc plates, plus redesigned the seats, to get the driver and passenger lower in the seating area. Added a new Trolljng Minn Kota trolling motor, and suffice it to say, have put more money in than what I spent to purchase this boat. But… the Sylvan Boats were designed for fishing, and this boat should be perfect for two guys. Three’s a crowd in the 17’ footer.
