Hi Rob. Found your channel last week been binge watching your videos. Very entertaining to watch, with charisma in front of the camera.👍 .. Worked in a 2nd car dealer few years ago. .. Detailer, bit of wrenching, car delivery/collection. (have a couple of collection stores to share). .. So know a bit about how life is at a car dealer. .. I'm 50 & at the same crossroads as you. Ive been hgv driver for 25 years. Need to move into something else. So understand when you say your not sure where to go next. .. I love the format of a car showroom with a bar - thats so Del boy and Rodney 😆.. ... Anyways i will say, I've seen businesses in the past expand too quickly and then fail due to lack of cashflow. .. Having a 2nd showroom may not necessarily mean a doubling of profit/income, all things considered. Overheads, staff, taxes etc. .. As you like cars and consider all the work thats gone into the Impreza, .. maybe move into modifying cars build "turn key" cars people can buy with all the work done.? .. You obviously enjoyed rebuilding that Impreza... .. You could use your existing business for your bread and butter.. .. Everyone has plans to modify their cars but never find the time or have the contacts.. .. Just a thought. ... Look forward to the next episode.. .. Did the white bmw with the wrong engine work out alright in the end? dying to know the outcome. Am gonna smash that subscribe button now.
Your unit is literally my dream unit but with motorcycles! Ive been buying and selling motorcycles for about 6 years now and im finally taking the plunge in january to go full time bricking it!

Please keep going and keep doing your RU-vid vlogs cus I really look forward to seeing them - they make me laugh ! I know that sounds selfish but , you have a great thing going there and when you have children believe me you will need money yes but , you will need the escape your business will bring. I personally would keep on doing what you're doing now, it's obviously sucessful, and something you can manage without too much stress.Concentrate more on your family life now and enjoy that side of things,good luck buddy with everything and keep up the great videos!

Hi Rob, very interesting to hear your experience, I'm tinkering with the idea of buying a car from auction, doing it up and selling it, mainly as a hobby... like you I've always been into cars, would love to follow in your footsteps but currently have a well paid job with a decent pension which I don't hate!...so I don't think I'd have the balls to go all in like you, have you any advice for selling the odd car from home as a hobby? I have been in the motor trade 40 years though you can deduct 12 years when i was a mechanic in the army....No one trusts no one ,,,Customers buy cars from dealers ,i have suffered it ,bought a brand new car ,it had issues some cosmetic and i was told put boot polish on it ..Long story short after i contacted the manufacturer all issues sorted ..Second hand wise people trade them in ,mainly because they have an issue .Take it to whoever is buying it ,clear faults pam it off ...Sellers then pam it off in auction when they see the issue ,some declare the fault some don't ...Some may just sell it on and ignore the customer .A big problem is the skill shortage with mechanics ..Younger mechanics want a fault code ,,so if you have a drone from the gearbox /diff since a code is not present they cant diagnoise it ,,And even with a code ,if it is a difficult one ,they clear it and give it back..Now you can not charge someone for no fault found ,but they hit you with a charge for using the diagnostic computer ,even if they haven't
Its simple. You now ha e establishment. Rinse and repeat, you will have a whole new level of chaos when the little one comes along. Just turnover cars as much as possible in next 5 years, when the lease is up and the baby is walking, it is when you ne t need to consider the next tactical move. Keep your powder dry by rinse and repeat for now, improving marketing and selling skills to aid tur over rather than infostructure. Once those are even more formidable you can then build the infostructure to build more capacity again. Also no one knows how ulez and elctric / hydrogen is going to go
Great video Rob, 5 years in the lease so add a few ramps next year and get a few extra cars do the same in 2026 and see if the unit next door becomes available some point. I am sure the business will go from strength to strength
Fabulous vid yet again. Your honesty and humor are a breath of fresh air. I don't know your $ situation, however stick to what you're doing and obviously good at. Lease the place next door! As you say, heavier metal will bring heavier burdens. Keep smiling mate, you've a terrific sense of humor which I'm sure everyone here appreciates. Buy the house, have the kids - you'll be right 🎉😊
