Ridiculous referee. It was not a slip, call it a knockdown, Then deduct a point to barrera for punching a guy already on the ground. That's fair. so. 10 - 8 becomes 9 - 8. Instead he called it a slip, and deducted a point for Barrera, so it became a 10 - 8 for marquez since he is slightly winning that round. Ridiculous. That's crucial on a very close fight.

Lennox might be the man to win an all time tournament vs every other heavyweight. He's big and fights big. His ONLY Achilles heel is his chin which truly is a big area to not be good in especially with the big boys. You put better whiskers on him and he's the best ever.
what a tough fighter. and Sanchez is not only effortless and powerful on offense and defense, he's also rugged and tougher than the other guy. you can see that when he takes a good hard shot, he gets mad. sometimes he stops boxing if he gets mad enough and starts spazzing out. did I mention that his stamina is also unlike anything anyone has ever seen before?
HBO already made their money with De La Hoya. Now they were looking to Mayweather and the 24/7. Undefeated Mayweather means more intrigue, more money. You can hear the commentary from HBO which does not at all align with what’s happening in the ring. Hence the bogus result of the fight.
I'm ngl Mayorga was a good heavy hitter but I feel like his problem was he never cared about having his guard up. Pretty much he just would think "let's just get in tha middle of tha ring n slug it out like men lol.
Knowing what we know now and seeing the condition Quarry was in later in life, it's hard watching these later fights. His head was target practice at the end. It's like watching Ali's later fights after Frazier III. You just want to yell at them and tell them to get out of the ring. But every boxer knows the risks and knows what could happen. And the scary thing is that Quarry wasn't that old in this fight. He just had a lot of hard miles on him at this point.
I remember this fight, warching it with family that most are not here anymore... Our love for Oscar made us think he was robbed... But the fact is Mayweather won this fight with accuracy, finesse and talent... It took a couple more fights for me to become a fan of Mayweather... As a boxer... If Mayweather was humbler and diffrent he would have accomplished alot more. As far as endorsements and so forth...
