Hello, I'm Gabriel from Switzerland. Welcome to my RC shelter. Featuring vintage and modern radio controlled cars, plus related electronics and accessories. Some fast speedruns and challenges too 🚀🏁 Enjoy 🐾🐺

Coy = Coyote (my pseudo for many decades, shorten to the 3 letters that we put in high score arcade games) GT = Gran Turismo (my favorite game) RC = Radio control (obviously)
On this tight track, there is no need for power. Stable turn-in and early acceleration. I will run the MF01X from the challenge, but not with a 6 turn brushed. Probably the Superstock TZ 😉🤝
@@coygtrc yeah, i knew what you mean, and that is why I am curious how top speed oriented car would perform here. I attempted a similar stuff but my mf01X rolled over 10s after starts lol, no contest whatsoever but if you tune it up for suitable way, mf01x might have a chance
I understand Uncle Bob, that could have been in 1/10, but it's quite long. Still, easy to put in a backpack. Seems Losi has some concern with 1/10 😒(Mini-B, Micro-B, Micro-T, JRXT 1/16, ...) 😁🤝
Incredible speed for a brushed set up Gabriel ,well done Sir!🙏 From the look of that end bell I'm guessing that thing was getting exceedingly hot !🔥 Great result ,and the the car looks delightful with that body, which luckily stayed in one piece ! 👍 👍 👍
Thanks 🤝 Yep, probably too much current (LiHV battery) and overgeared. Plus, I saw that some people were putting diodes and capacitor back in the day, which I have not... Well, it was worth it even if I missed my "dream speed" of 75. Thanks for watching and take care 👏🤝
Thanks Freddy 🤝 At the end, it was a nice chassis. My last 3 sessions, no walk of shame song (while I am the one who suggested it 😅). But it required some work. Made me curious about other M-chassis because this one stock around a "track", it was a handful 😅
Congrats on the incredible speed! You passed my goal for my brushless setup, that is nuts for a brushed motor! Sadly it looks to have made its last runs with that end bell all torn up like that but it went out flying!
@@coygtrc Just barely! I think the jump to ludicrous mode is a lot of stress on the motors, I am kind of curious what mine would have done on regular gearing but not enough to take it back out! LOL!!
Thanks, Joe. It was less close in brushed / brushless on this challenge. Not even the 3s thing as Michi went over 100 😲 in 2s. You did great too with your "brick" 👍🤝
Wow Gabriel, you just broke the UK national speed limit!!! That's some achievement my friend! Sorry about the motor, another lost in the cause for speed. Well done on a new PB! 👏😎👍
Thanks, Mark 🤝 Didn't know speed limit was under 71 in UK. In Switzerland, it's about 74-75, speed that has been eluding me for a long time, some kind of nemesis hard deck 😅
@@coygtrc Yeah Gabriel, speed limit here is 60mph on a single road and 70mph on dual carriageway or motorway. Haha, your nemesis is much faster than mine, as you saw its 45mph!!! 😂😂👍👍
That's some speed! 👌 Problem is that those motors weren't design and calculated for Lipos. You have more current available = more speed than with Nicd or Nimh batteries. But also much more heat😕
Well, you're right. I guess they are not ready for the high discharge curve of Lipo. These motors are designed for 7 cells NiMH too. It's possible I should have added some capacitor or diodes here and there. Too late now. Hopefully, one day, I'll find the correct enbell. Thanks for watching 👍 🤝
Yes, my mother tongue is french. In school, we learn german, but in Switzerland, it's more "swiss german" and it's a different one in every region 😢then we learn english as it's kind of mandatory now 😊
@@coygtrc hahaha i heard Swiss german is quite different from German german too. Wish i could speak both german and french fruently. To be honest, I want to learn even more, such as spanish, russian, etc... More and more people around the world I meet, more I feel like it that way;) Je dois etudie et parle Francais 😂
@@coygtrc yeah okay... that might change things... but the chassis does the heavy lifting in this case... if you run on a course like that power isn't everything...
Great work Gabriel! I had full faith in you matey, this one was well worth saving. This is one of the reasons why I still loved brushed Motors, they come from a period in time where things were designed to be serviceable and repairable...... a far cry from this modern throw away world that we live in today. These are skills that all of us that grew up with the A-Team should have under our belt! 😂 👍 👍 👍
Thanks Tom. It's very useful if you have a lot of rebuildable motors. But let's face it, while brushed has its charm, brushless is so much better and efficient. Still, it's not maintenance free, sometimes a little cleanup and bearings checkup are necessary.👍🤝
@@coygtrc yes, brushless is clearly better... it is hard to find good fast brushed motors... only low quality cheap stuff or vintage motors which are kinda overpriced... Also finding esc's that can run the fast stuff isn't easy, there are bl esc that can run brushed too like castle but then you can easyli spend more money on a brushed setup than on a better bl setup... Running brushed in a speedrun comp requires deep pockets if you want to win.
@rc_tom Not cheap. But sometimes you find gems in a lot or in a 50€ car 😉 But yeah, a brushed TRF ESC + TRF Transpeed MS are worth a lot. Same with Team Checkpoint (Metallic endbell) and some Team Orion Revolution V2 Special Edition (Marc Rheinard / Atsushi Hara / ...). Not forgetting Trinity Cobalt 🌞
@@coygtrc that was all before i got into rc... so i have no idea whats good and what not. Sure i watched some videos and can read about that stuff... but i wasn't arround in that time. And finding this stuff nowadays isn't easy... if you find it, it is expensive most of the time...
Yeah, I thought the lost of monetization, which I will probably never have, was balanced by some of the mandatory music and voice I used (most notably the A-Team theme 😁). Could have used MacGyver, but I did not employed a Swiss Knife, which is weird for someone from Switzerland 😅🤝
