I enjoyed it for the shorter experience, got it cheap and played in an afternoon. It's linear but that was good, sometimes you want to play a fun little game like this without being overwhelmed with metroidvania hidden paths and trying to remember to go back to places later, ya know?
My exact thoughts! I get so worried about missing something in a game that sometimes I like just having a no missable chill experience and this definitely provided that. You're spot on my friend!
The game has great atmosphere , but i remember the combat being poor and it is super linear. Great to experience once but no reason to return to it. Which is a but if a shame.
That's fair and completely valid. I know some people get a bit bored with the combat. I personally like the linearity in a current gaming market filled with open world games, it's nice for a relaxing straightforward game every now and then. Totally respect your opinion though! Thank you for sharing!
So the movie takes before the game, hence why qwark in prison retelling the events. Lol the movie was fun, went and saw it in theaters. In fact, a lot of the cutscenes in the game are ripped right from the movie.
Ohhh okay that makes sense! I knew some of the cutscenes were from the movie because I saw some copyright warnings when making a video. Thanks for watching!
@@furyberserk slowly and clunky gameplay, an ost that doesn't fit the scenes it's in, the wooden and stilted dialogue, the lack of a good story, repetitive creature design, the fact that eve doesn't have much of personality at all, the game locking features that should be already in the game behind a skill chart. Do I need to go on?
I would put FF7R right after this one but definitely respect the opinion! Haven't seen much about the Wukong game but will definitely give it a play when it comes out. Hopefully it meets expectations! Thanks for commenting!
@giosbizarreart9048 Right, because it certainly wouldn't be because of the poorly implemented exp system that forces you into doing tedious side content for hours. Nor would it be because of the uninteresting story with lines and lines of dialogue that serve as nothing but extra padding, or any of the other glaring issues the game has. I put over 70 hours into the game before I quit due to the awful experience, but sure, call me a hater.
I don't see how,, this game has basic combat, the world, npcs, dialogues, characters, story and quests are all bland and dull as the fucking desert levels in this game. People giving this game hype probably enjoy the sexy outfits that does fuck all.
@@blueferal8626 Considering every ending doesn't show her, either she is taken or killed by Mother Sphere, which we know she can wipe memories as well just kill. Spoilers: Adam is Raphael Marks. In government forms, last names are first while official names are in order. Adam is Mr. Mother Sphere is Ms.
As an old South Park fan, I'd say this was the last time I really enjoyed the IP. I completed everything in the game many years ago and it was the last game I purchased a game on physical media, so yes the game is on my list of 100 favorite vidya.
Agree with the top games for sure. I do think the episodes have gone downhill a bit as the creators and their families age but I still watch them. Nothing on the old episodes though thats for sure. Thanks for watching!
I could see the angle since she's grouped with Adam so some sort of way there can be a justifable explanation there, but regardless I found the symbolism to be great throughout the game, even if I don't understand it all!
@zZiL341yRj736 have you seen other games this year Suicide squad assassins creed shadows and star wars outlaws are it's competition at least stellar blade isn't another cash grab that has to push some sort of dei message intended for modern audiences
@@zZiL341yRj736 right a game that's a complete package, runs flawlessly, has great combat and impressive graphics and has fun but pretty challenging combat is "dull" The only thing that's a p.o.s in this conversation is your taste.
As of now I definitely agree, but would be happy/impressed if something even better came along this year! That would be a surprise for sure though. Thanks for watching! Happy to hear you also enjoyed the game
@@JMstudios7 Barely a copy without depth of Nier Automata, Sekiro and Bayoneta. It has good design and a pretty good combat system. Game of the year Material? No. But I understand for the masses must be big.
@@JMstudios7 I said Nier Automata. Not Nier. Know your stuff. Combat is better than Sekiro. Indeed combat and no microtransactions are the selling point of this title. Hell I even give them points for replay value with the new game plus. But this title is not even close to GOW Ragnarok to be considered a GotY. Stellar Blade story is mediocre at best, characters are basic with little range or development.
@@Lionheart683 who tf talks about nier these days and means replicant everyone talks about automata , and story doesn’t mean everything 😂 gameplay does that why gow lost to elden ring and sekiro has a mediocre story and still won’t goty , hell and FromSoftware games have mid stories and are still praised so ofc stellar blade should be praised for its great combat , music , bosses and world design
Just finished the latest R&C in the series and was satisfied with it immensely. After that I looked for other games about R&C on RU-vid, and the other highly suggested game in the series was the one your reviewing here, and I'm playing it now and I think the story is a bit better than the last entry but the gameplay much better!
I agree! I guess it's not super popular in the fan base but as someone who has barely played Ratchet games I found it to be a wonderful time. Great gameplay in my opinion for sure. Thanks for watching!
I think this game not only had a better story than the sequel but also better gameplay. Something about the style that they chose to use for game mechanics just feels right about it
Definitely agree in that this one (although slightly) edges out the sequel. Maybe it's since it has more of an RPG feel with knights and wizards and such. Also the story is just great! Still love the sequel too though. Thanks for watching!
I feel like Sea of Stars was more than recognized for how good it is. It improved upon turn based combat systems by incorporating skill locks into turn based combat. It wasn't the first to do this though. I strongly recommend that everyone who enjoyed Sea of Stars play Chained Echoes. It came out at the very end of 2022 and I personally think it's the stronger entry. It retooled Chrono Cross's field color system so that the required actions are strictly that category (as opposed to "color"). It is absolutely stuffed with optional secrets in interesting and beautifully rendered areas. I don't think every plot beat was perfect, and I actively hated the main protagonist, but despite those things, Chained Echoes is one of the best JRPGs I've ever played, and it's better than Sea of Stars.
Oh agreed on the combat. I mention in the video how the South Park games did this as a comparison and I know others have done so in the past too (though I'm not sure who was the first, that just came to mind originally). That game sounds awesome. Chrono Cross is one of my favorite games of all time (I know controversial considering how a lot of Trigger's fan base do not like it). Maybe I'll make a video on Chained Echoes one day, sounds right up my alley and I've never heard of it before your comment, so thank you for sharing! Thanks for the comment!
Something about that party member death just hit soooo hard.... The game truly is beautiful, I'm with you all the way. Thank you so much for your comment!
Thank you so much for the comment! The reason I described it as underrated in the title was because I had never heard of it until recently. (which I'm learning is a bit surprising based on the communities knowledge of the game, I suppose I should've realized it was more well known!) Either way, I really enjoyed it and would consider it my favorite game I played in 2023 excluding FF16. It just hits the right nostalgia spot mixed with a modern feeling for me and for many other reasons I describe throughout the video. Thank you again!
Hey, Saw your video on Reddit, and saw it was Sea of Stars and I clicked right away, and I got to say, Great Video and I Love RPGs, I'm also a huge fanboy for FF ahaha :)
Thank you for your kind words, it really means a lot, I'm just starting out and the encouragement and support is soooo appreciated! Celeste has definitely been on my "To Play" list for a while, I've suprisingly never played it but heard nothing but positive things. A video in the future for it is extremely likely! Thanks again for you view and comment!
Wow, I can tell by your profile you're a big fan. And Awesome! I really did have a blast with it. Thank you so much for watching! Hoping to play some other games in the series soon
