Why are people so shocked? Anyone who runs a pserver are doing it to make money. Through donations or the ability to generate fake virtual currency to trade for tangible real world currency. Also, it's a bit unrealistic for people to expect these people to put in tons of work for no pay.
incorrect. it doesnt take much to run a server but time and will. There are people doing this as a hobby. Most of private servers for game are infact something like a hobby project. Yeah, for real. Private servers are risky in general because of the volatility of them. I don't want to potentially spend hundreds of hours on something that could all be wasted. The Nost team was amazing, but it still was taken down. These guys were corrupt AF and, in the end, the result is the same

He admits to doing it 7 years ago because he was in school and needed money. Though ever since then he hasn't done it apparently. And Kronos admins vouch for him for the times when he was an admin in Kronos too. I guess he has done it before, he knows that it was scummy and wants to prevent things like that from happening again. Anyway, I don't think what he did can amount to this.
