I looked Ava up on google and she was the Valedictorian at her high school (Graduated this year). She moved out of the gym she completed for in this video to another to pursue going elite. However she ended up not competing elite because of an injury in 2020. In 2021 she decided to never compete elite because of the prior injury and decided to focus on level 10.
I love that people still watch this and comment. Yes, she is 18 and has been at level 10 for the last 7 years. She will be competing for Central Michigan next year in college and still loves the sport.
in mens they changed things a few years ago and the old routines were much easier than the new routines. now a level 8 is like the old level 9. did they leave womens alone or change them also?
Ava will be a freshman in college next year at Central Michigan and will compete for them. She started at 6 years old and at that time I believe she was in the gym 3 days a week at level 4.
I quit gymnastics when I was 13 because it was ‘too hard’ and I was only in level 3/4 she’s ten and already almost at the top standards. I don’t think people realize how much hardwork, blood, tears, sweat, pain and dedication it takes to be at that level.
Thank you for the kind words! I am now a senior in high school and signed on a full athletic scholarship for gymnastics at Central Michigan University.
My parents made me start late I begged them when I was little but they said no it’s to dangerous so they made me do soccer whitch I didn’t really like until they finally let me do gymnastics and it’s way more fun than kicking a ball around lol
It kinda makes me sad that gymnasts are getting younger and younger not being able to experience their childhood I get it I was level 8 I believe wen I stopped n I was 12 but went to the gym 5 days a week for lik 3-5 hours everyday I loved it with every fiber in my being but their jus too young hVe a lil bit of a childhood….tho it is cool being able to do layouts n shit thru my 20’s….ps you killed it girlie!!!!
Your toe point throughout floor routines has gotten much more consistent over the years, love it. Also, you've always been clean and precise in your dancing, but this music/choreo suits you waaaay better than past ones
