I love the color usage- the colors seem so soft yet deeply contrast with the “dark”, creating a really nice jarring effect, the blue and black create such a nice omen, and how the red is used to symbolize (mostly) violent things (the battlefield, (metaphorical) blood, the rose bride (who has done violent things such as poison)) the swords being (as the song states) of bones and being white, the same color as the Observatory (I think, I forgot the name where Akio does all his nefarious deeds), Akio’s hair/Dios’s hair is so intriguing to me. The fact that Akio and Anthy’s shots (in the observatory/in the garden) mirror each other somewhat is also so interesting. I would analyze more but I feel like I would be misinterpreting if I did 🥲 (I’m confident in media analysis) But nevertheless, I REALLY love this PMV!!! The incorporation of metaphors, symbolism and composition was really good!! ❤❤❤
This is genuinely so damn beautiful,, I just,, Tim is the character that kinda hits the hardest for me death wise, always has. Tim’s whole character is just tragedy after tragedy and while he always tries to keep it lighthearted, enjoying life for the nice things he has… as the series goes on, all that joy is drained. Slowly until there’s nothing left, until he resents nearly everyone around him left in his life and longs for everything to go back. This video illustrates that perfectly. It’s visually stunning; the contrast, the timing, it makes his life and death all the more difficult to think of,,, Tim Stoker, to me more than anyone else, embodies the true nature of tragedy in TMA. And you have done a fantastic job of capturing that. Thank you for making this.

Hold up..I never commented on this?! Fixing that immediately, oh my god. First off, always gotta start with your wicked understanding of color theory because the limited color scheme goes so hard. Of course still loving the artstyle as much as I did when I watched this a while back..the lyrics!! “Do you walk in the shadow of men who sold their lives to a dream“ is such an all encompassing line for Akio, giving up his own wants to be Dios, then giving up the role of Dios to become Akio but still desiring the power being Dios came with, except now he uses that power in a twisted way?? Hes a shadow of his former self?? Maybe?? THE LINE MAKES ME FERAL EITHER WAY. “Do you ponder the manner of things in the dark?“ Utena always asking Anthy her titular questions during their time in front of that huge window, always at night where Anthy’s either vulnerable with her hair down in her nightgown with Utena, or off in the other room with Akio. The stars they see aren’t even reallll its just empty darkness, Utena’s so small against the vast window, against the Rose Bride’s stabbing ground, shes so small compared to Akio’s power, her understanding of everything is small she doesn’t know the truth UGHHH IT MAKES ME ILL. “You don’t remember what you’re asking for“ SHE LITERALLY DOESN’T. “I am flesh and I am bone“ Anthy isn’t really here, she’s still in her coffin, shes also reduced to a concept or an object, something to obtain, she has no feelings shes not human so why would she have flesh and bones?? Or prehaps thats all she has and there is no soul--sounds like a theory the Student Council’d buy into, at least. “Rise up like glitter and gold“ She’s just Akio’s puppet, to him, and she rises up against that notion, Utena helps her have the courage to free herself, to leave him, she rises out of OHTORI ITSELF, she LEAVES. IM GOING INSANE. Anyway, back to standard compliments of the texture used, the brush gives off the vibe that this was drawn in pencil which I find very cool. I love the way you draw hair, it reminds me of how I draw it sometimes, haha. The repeated frames give off the air of an actual Utena episode, with it’s important but reused animation. This song is also super cool and I had heard it before but I’d forgotten the name so when I first watched this animatic I was glad to have learned the title again. Apologies for the long yapping, I’ve just come from rewatching your Mikage animatic to rewatch this one and was surprised to find I hadn’t commented anything here! Had to remedy this. TLDR: LOVE YOUR WORKKK!!
I always come back to this animatic, its just so good! The composition, the color palette, the artstyle, the facial expressions,..and the lyrics match so well with Mikage’s complex storyline. I feel like the way you set this up, even non-Utena watchers would be able to tell loosely whats going on here. Additionally, I just find Mikage fascinating in general so it’s always a treat finding content with him. This song is also a banger--as all Lemon Demon songs are--and it’s on my playlist of songs I’d like to make my own animatics of! This particular one wouldn’t be RGU themed, but I still find inspiration in this animatic anyway. Pretty sure I commented here a while back, but I don’t think I said much other than how cool it was seeing Mikage (or Utena animatics in general) in 2024. So this comment’s my very late way of fixing that! Apologies for all the rambling ^^

I love the colours, the designs (I don't see a lot of people bringing up how cool your Gertrude looks), the way it lines up with the song, and especially the way you portray Helen's death(s). Excellent job!!
i only have vague knowledge of Utena through a friend BUT i know a good animation when i see one!! i love the style and limited palette, and the rhythm! the blinks work so well to really tie the song to it. also i know enough of Mikage and the general plot to pick out some things, but even without that i can feel the symbolism and meanings all the way over here and i am eating it up!
