The comparison would have to be sung in similar sized sonically good venues without amplification. That would eliminate about half the people in this video.
Best for me by far: Pasyukov - but you'd never know it on this clip. Check him out on other clips - no "growl", pure chest resonance. Zlatopolsky coming in second. Let's be frank, no one does contra bass quite like the Russians!
Awesome Video , Great Compilation . it was like walking the Voiceplay Memory Lane . I forgot about some of these Videos you showed 😮. it is totally time to rewatch some of these Videos .
Of the baritones, Chris has the best low notes. Matt has the best growl notes for a baritone, though. For versatility, Eli has them all beat... he is technically a baritenor, with an insane chest range, and can hit pretty low notes in full chest for someone who sits this high in the baritone range.
I like the voice of Geoff Castellucci and Glenn Miller better. Some basses are difficult to listen to for a long time. You get tired of constantly low notes and vibrations. Zlatopolsky sounds like a monster, but he has an incredibly unusual voice.
Okay about a year since I posted a comment admitting that I thought of him as a gray area between a high bass and low baritone, now I am 100% certain he's a baritone after hearing him sing operatically.
if you can project a C2 over a room (85+ decibels) with lots of fullness without effort, even on bad voice days, you're a Bass. a low bass, even. If you can do that, but with a G1, you're a basso profundo. D2/E2, probably a standard bass, F2/G#2, Baritone, A2 to E3 Tenor. assuming your voice is trained and strong, but this is a pretty decent way. also you can check where your voice transitions from chest voice to head voice Tenors lie between F4 and A4, baritone Eb4 and E4, basses D4, some extremely low basses may have at C#4 or even C4. your lowest chest note does not determine your voice type. i'm a tenor/ high baritone who can dip down to a Bb1, G1 on extreme days. But i have bad projection and a brassy quality to my voice past A2, because even tho it is all chest, my vocal folds aren't long and thickn enough to produce these frequencies smoothly.
