Dion Francis DiMucci, better known as Dion, is a legendary American singer-songwriter whose work has incorporated elements of doo-wop, rock and R&B styles-and, most recently, straight blues. He was one of the most popular American rock and roll performers of the pre-British Invasion era. He had more than a dozen Top 40 hits in the late 1950s and early 60s. Songs such as “Teenager In Love,” Runaround Sue,” "The Wanderer", “Ruby Baby,” and “Abraham, Martin and John” are woven into the fabric of American rock history.
Dion was inducted into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame in 1989, introduced by Lou Reed. In 2015 Dion signed with Instant Records for the 2016 album “New York Is My Home.” The title track is a love letter to New York City, recorded with Paul Simon.
Legally, the people who should be liable for the deaths of Buddy and Richie and JP are the airline operator, the tour manager, and the record executives in NY who put the tour together.
When I was in preschool and kindergarten when my mom picked me up from school this song would come on and now im in 7th grade and still listening to this
I was staying in a hotel across the parking lot and I was sitting in the little bar inside the Surf ballroom and met a woman who was the sister of the men who owned and farm where the plane went down
I grew up listening to Runaround Sue and stuff, and I can't believe at 83. The man is still as talented as ever. My dream has always been to meet him, as I've been lucky in my life to have met many other artists of the 50s and 60s, but I've sadly never been able to meet the legend himself, Dion DiMucci. I'd do anything for my dream to come true.
