I remember taking a file with GT1 data, copying it, and renaming into 911 turbo data file. Then you had basically a GT1 in a skin of 911 Turbo, but with all tuning parts available. Normally GT1 had no tuning available. After the file swap and upgrades, the 911 was going 350kph through half of the zone industrielle. At some point I've renamed all the files in the game, which had little sense, but I did it anyways :)
That game should not be played on modern system. The low resolution textures and parkinsonism in the right hand is too irritating. It must be played on Windows95 or 98 with Pentium3 system. Windows2000/XP have graphics glitches as I mentioned

I have a windows XP computer to play many of the games I had back in the early 2000's. Need For Speed High Stakes is one of my favorites and it still works.
I see lots of comments about the helicopter. I wonder though how many people know about the glitch on this track where there is a spot on the frozen lake that will make your car jump up into the air well above the "mountains" even at walking speed.
Thank you! As with most of my “fastest” tunes, I primarily focused on the gearing, then experimented with the other tuning areas (notably tire pressure, camber, and differential center split) to see where I could squeeze out some extra power. I’ll try to remember to pull up my tune later to go into more details of what I did. Maybe someday I’ll put out a tutorial.
One of the mod cars have installed is the Porsche 917K in short and narrow tracks this thing a monster but in wide open tracks like Celtic Ruins it gets knocked around, flies through the air and slips of the road and it's very stiff. It's fun to watch at the same time an absolute menace on tracks like Rocky Pass
Hello. It´s an awesome game, cool you got it working. Some game been remastered and such, is it hard to remaster a game like this with only the disc/game. Or could you pay a pro to help you? Just curoius, thanks in advance🙂
The only thing that might get us closest to remaster/remake is a mod or set of mods for a game like Assetto Corsa which allows you to get new maps/tracks and cars. As for NFS remake, highly unlikely EA will do it. I heard some rumours about remastering NFS 3 hot Pursuit but will they try remastering NFS which focused only on one brand? I doubt it, i would love it since it was my favorite need for speed but they EA just like other companies are money hungry nowadays and will do anything to appease to as many customers as possible and since most of them nowadays are zoomers, tehy will sell shit like NFS Unbound.
This game didn't have sharable files for car setups. If you're talking about the game, there are already patches/files across the Internet like the "Essentials" patch, the nGlide program for glide emulation, or the official EA patch. It's going to depend on your PC. Different PC configs may require different patches/methods. Sometimes these files also require permission to share, so I typically don't share files (I'm not an official source). I hope you understand.
