I had a 27t core rc I found over time it chewed up the stock driveshafts and needed replacing and descided to go back to the stock motor 540 60t just upgraded to a bigger battery for longer run time I find the stock after exploring diffrent motors has enough speed control and torque for the job 😂
yes agree 💯 % 35t is what everyone seems to go for but I couldn't get on with it. I've tried everything from a 9t upwards 🤣 this 27 is OK but does get hot if you show it any decent banking 👍🐿
I just have a 4600 battery and the original 540 60t motor and I can do a hour long walk around the woods with lights on. I did upgrade to a 35t and 27t but found over time it chewed up the plastic driveshaft bearings and needed replacing 😂
Nice one Marc....great on-board footage. You need to set it up FPV and get some cheap goggles, it's brilliant. I've done it to my redcat gen8 and it's a whole new world of rc!! Keep safe pal, cheers.

Have been running Ravine as a half droop LCG rig with a few super simple mods. Changed 6.5 KG servos for 25 KG metal case / all metal gear train servos. Fitted steel steering rods with alloy ball joint ends. Made my own high clearance lower arms from stainless steel drinking straws, removed lower section of chassis and moved receiver/ESC to between rear shock mounts. Added 15mm hex extenders to run wheels with different offsets. Ended up with original beadlosck wheels and Kanyon tyres with extra sipes cut is and custom foams. Shocks mounted in lowest, farthest inboard position and using matched set of elasticated hair bands to run about half droop. I also added diode switched resistances to both motor power feeds for better low speed control with switches to adjust front overdrive. Happily ascends 65 degree slopes and handles trailing through local forest with ease. Quite fancy the mauler too as I'm pretty sure it would not take much to make it into a very capable crawler. i guess the ravine won bc its a lot more mobile. i like the mauler more in terms of price/performance out of the box (ravine absolutely needs tyre upgrade before considering anything) but the turning circle is bad af
yes it probably did on this one, tbh they are both just as good as each other at different things but definitely agree the ravine does need tyres so that puts it at mauler price . don't think I could choose one or the other but ravine with some simple mods and it's rear steer is awesome, but so is the mauler 🤣 cheers 👍🐿
@@009ADVENTURES where i live the ravine is 140 bucks and the mauler is 240 bucks. a good set of tyres for the ravine can cost 80 bucks so yes, you are quite close with your opinion, however the samr goes for the mauler. its stock tyres arent as bad as the ravines, but still a weakpoint. im a fan of the ravine as a beginner vehicle and its ability to eat up a ridiculous amount of punishment makes it a great toy for children and adults alike (i own 4 of them). im still undecided if i really need a mauler when i got 2 TRX4 allready, but the mauler could easily use the same wheels i allready have on the ravines.
You've got some great locations there i even thought of going to wales for the day with my crawler but wasn't sure how accessible it is as i dont drive. Great vid matey👍

thanks :) yes I have a few ftx and think they are great, cheap and cheap to fix . the cable ties were a trail fix as I broke the bracket fir the too links ,,, about 6 months ago 🤣 you know what I meant to check the bag but forgot. Will have to go back and see if it's still there 👍🐿

I'm looking for a lil help on upgrading a toy grade rc. I am happy with everything but the steering servo and would like to upgrade that only. But having troubles figuring the wiring of it. How did you get your servo wired in to the circuit board?
hi Brian, I was lucky I had a board here that was proportional along with the matching servo from an old rc car that was crashed so I changed the lot in this one along with the controller. easiest option is to buy a hobbywing 1060 esc and a 3 wire servo but then you will need a controller and receiver. all that will cost around £60 that's the only problem unless you can find something on marketplace or the like . What an awesome crawling spot! What wheels/tyres are you running on the scx24? Im currently using stock tyres on ali beadlock wheels, but the stock tyres are pretty shit.... those you have on look nice and soft but grippy too..... keep safe pal, cheers.
oh yes it's amazing, can't wait to get back there andy :) believe it or not bud they are cheap ftx swampers , they are a tenna for wheels n tyres :) they are slightly smaller which helps and slightly wider offset , thought I'd try them and find them great . cheers bud 👍 🐿
My brand is Katsumi but its identical. You can leave it in your vehicle permanently hooked up as per instructions i just downloaded. I have opened the unit and its vry basic inside. I have tried with uhf but i will get my son to do a range test tommorow.

yes I know, I'm disappointed myself tbh and thinking of giving up. I have tried to make many videos but there's not much to film tbh. Will have to try get out when conditions are right and do some ssb perhaps that's the only option the way its looking here. and all this just because nobody will change channel!
