Holy crap the Mad hatter saloon is still there! And Gusts! Been 40 years since I lived there and so much has changed. The streets are in way better shape for sure. I think maybe 5 or 6 businesses are still the same.
Great looking small town. The buildings are in spectacular condition and the views are awesome. I hope Big Timber stays small. There's no need to build it up and ruin it. Congratulations to the people living there for maintaining it's small town atmosphere.
Hey chuck it’s been a few years since I posted that video. But I would say TX. I once worked in Parker as the cable guy. Left just after the company merged with Altic.
Wow, diesel was $2.74, the good ol’ days of peace and tranquillity before this hellish crap started with our wonderful new President. Good luck on the road and it’s always best to err on the side of caution in inclement weather. I’m researching trucking as my final destination in career after being retired for a few years but luckily I’m still in my early 60s and in good health. Thanks for the post.
I just came back from my 5th annual trip to Montana...and Big Timber was my last stop before I went back to Billings. Usually I spend most of my time around Missoula as I LOVE Big Sky's Moose Drool. But this year I am very happy I decided to expand...I mean how much of Missoula can I see every year? Not much to do in Big Timber....trails are far and takes a long time to get to, but stayed in cabin on a ranch about 7 miles off 191(gravel road) and experienced the best night of my life. Wolves howling at sunset, night sky most amazing I ever seen. Very secluded, very peaceful.
@@TheIrishman79 I hear you brother. Crazy times we're living in. Hopefully we can right this ship sooner than later. Appreciate all the videos you have posted I really enjoy them. Safe Travels.
I got seriously snowed in in fargo not long ago and told the customer if you need it bad today , you'll need it worse when it gets there , I wasn't lying
I applied on my phone at about 9pm by 6am the next day I had received a call from them. That same day as I was at work I had happened to walk in on the call from them to my boss at the time. I was accepted that day. But at the time I was living in AZ and told them planned to move to Arkansas in 3 weeks. They told me as soon as I get moved to Ark. notify them and they setup my orientation. Super fast back then. Pre Vid
@@TheIrishman79 huh i guess since you already have experience they got back quicker. i graduated in august and have been trying to get with them and stay away from dry vans as much as possible. ive been waiting since the 29th after they sent me a copy of my background check. i might try to call them tomorrow to see where things are at
@@thebaldseagul1009 yes call and find out. Yes I had years experience with a clean record but one thing you will learn fast in this industry is, there will and always be a need for drivers. It may be due to the vid and what changes they must do due to the Gov. Don’t get discouraged.
@@TheIrishman79 ya i'm not too worried and i know HR departments can be pretty slow at times but as of right now they are the dream job. Because from flat bed i want to go towards heavy haul and so on so forth so this (in my eyes) is the perfect first step
That's why I didn't recognize the truckstop, I've only been there once, I don't have to do that anymore, I've had medical issues that won't let me drive commercially anymore.
HEy good stuff....I asked about the whole boat thing....NOW I know!! It was a long sleepy video but...I got the picture now....SHOW US MORE BOATS AND LOADING AND UNLOADING..THANKS
@@TheIrishman79 yeah I suppose ..but no disrespect but we see too much of your face! (everyone does it!, they wanna be a star)....but like that boat you dropped in LB ....where is that thing going?? also, I love boats so I could talke about every single one..the design, the purpose, the type of hull design, etc... It can be cool if you were into it. But maybe you like harleys instead.
Just came across your channel. I like seeing the snow shutdowns!! So how did you get into the boats? Im gonna look back at your other vids. You still drive for TMC? I love boats, would love to hual them. Is that a full on specail trailer or just specail jigs for boats?
Great question, ok well before I enter I check my rout in the Trimble and on google maps. I get a visual on the locations. I compare the two making sure both are on the same page. Back in the day before technology I would write everything down. Using the Atlas map and call the destination and get directions. I still to this day use my atlas, it’s always on my dash to use. I will say they use different signs for things like scale houses so always be aware of what’s coming ahead.
@Ron Ryder thank you Ron for watching. Yes I looked into the translation app, LOL that’s how I was able to order McDs. 😆 I actually like learning the street sings and directions. Figured them out pretty much on my own way back when. Speaking it tho 😆 yeah that’s not going to happen. I told an ex gf who spoke many different languages, my tongue just doesn’t work that way. There is a big difference between the other parts of CA QB seems to be the only difficult area, but manageable.
I was stuck in that but on the Oregon side in Pendleton just after Cabbage. Sat a day and a half, then another day and half after moving a few more miles west to get to Portland. Done with that route for the season I think...
@@airbornetrucker9464 sometimes I get frustrated with the uploads taking forever but I have to remember I’m using the cell data. Upload as much music from iTunes to your phone as well.
Absolutely, if it is in single to negative temperatures by all means idle. The bunk heater in the trucks that run off the fuel will keep you warm in most cases. But in extreme low temperatures use the truck. This will also help keep the fuel from jelling. But remember to get anti jell fuel treatment.
Heck of a bounce! I’m glad I got a new used truck 😂I bought that same 🧢 hat . You would think TMC would put the fenders on all the trucks, I trip planned a truck wash on the way🐢💨💨safe travels
Thanks for the question, they bring the equipment out to you. You then inform them you haven’t operated one before and they can guide you. That’s what happen with me. I’ve been around equipment before but not everything. Plus I have the mindset if it has wheels or in this case tracks, I can drive it. 😆
