@@GRIMMGent One of the best albums i have heard this year. This is how symphonics are used. The vocals are beyond epic, the songwriting is flawless. Hope they will tour germany soon.
@@Dragonlochd0815 Like we were saying in our talk with them, it's like the cinematic storytelling from Insomnium's "Winter's Gate" and some of the movie soundtrack-like compositions Tuomas of Nightwish shakes out of his sleeves on the regular, made a deathcore baby. It's incredible. And we feel privileged that we'll get to see them play the whole album from start to finish at their release show in Helsinki this Saturday! It's going to be one for the books. Seen them live before, but this is going to be something else...
@@shaunbrown5803 Dude, you are ridiculous. You see a guy in a mesh shirt and you go with "Are they trans?". Get a life, or maybe focus on what is important here: the music.
i still feel like even if Alicia was a bassist. Shes a lead singer for another band. It would have diversified the band if she had a song in a DF album
Just discovered Svalbard this year and to say I'm now a fan is an understatement, When I Die Will I Get Better ?is on repeat since that day, that album is a masterpiece ❤
I love this interview. And the sound is awesome. The voices have this cool doubling effect - much like someone who is possessed in a horror movie - that’s totally metal and unique!🤘It’s such a relaxed and interesting interview and the demonic vocal effect at the beginning is freaking awesome! And then when it goes away, it’s equally cool as an interview because I can understand Grimm better and her voice rocks! I love the woman’s guitar playing. She has shredding finesse.
Good inteview but only the left side audio could be heard. Could that be turned to mono, or fixed some kind of other way without having to reupload the video?
im a big fan of EMPEROR since 1st time i heard them in compilation album Gods of Darkness circa 97.. pls ask my bm idol, Ihsahn..WHEN WILL NEW ALBUM of EMPEROR COME OUT! 2024?
Thank you for this wonderful interview. Also, just wondering if you could possibly do an interview with Beyond Awareness? They are a Nu Metal band from Tampere, Finland, they are absolute amazing.
How to tell you didn't really watch the video without telling us. Nice gaslighting of anyone who has mental illness and is struggling... Edit: And now it seems you've changed your crappy comment into another shitty one. Go troll somewhere else, please.
Anthems is a bonafide work of genius. All the stars aligned for them on that album. Personally, it flipped my creative world upside down. It was a revelation…

Yeah, his own energy. If you would be familiar with Michael Monroe any bit, you would know that he has a kind of very restless energy without having to take anything. As far as we know, he's completely sober.
satan and lucifer are distinctly different people in the bible. Satan is just a demon of rage. he doesnt have a plan or goal. just does one thing. 7 heads, 10 horns, all emotional Looks like a red dragon. Lucifer is the fallen one. the guy with the reputation for all the evil stuff, the big plan against god. Is lucifer. Satan just manages souls. I think it would be interesting for a death mental band to read a bible before appropriating the prince of darkness. lol.
First of all, this is a black metal band, nothing death metal about them. Secondly, feel free to actually watch the video to see where the quote comes from and what led up to him saying this jokingly. There was no "appropriating the prince of darkness" going on, he was making a silly joke based on what he had just said before about his views on the present state of black metal compared to its initial mission. Maybe first make sure you're properly informed before you bring your criticism to the table.
@@GRIMMGent i am "properly informed"; rather formally educated. Being black or metal doesn't decide the context of what Satan is. I have ASD. I apologize if you are emotionally wounded by the facts i shared with you. I attempted to watch the entire video but the appropriated biblical academia turned me away. I hope you feel better. Maybe you can write a sad song about it. You pander to darkness because you lack the creative constitution to form your own path. lol *waves*
You must realize the algorithm sent a religious academic to your channel because of the parenthesis you use. yes? I dont even listen to metal music. I study evil. Be will, brother.
Since you don't even listen to metal, it's quite clear that you actually are not properly informed. Especially since you somehow take me talking about "black metal" as me talking about black as a race? There is no "appropriated biblical academia". There is a discourse on how black metal started as a movement to go against certain ideas and views. And since those ideas and views were back then more than often linked with Christianity, the use of satanism as theme or imagery was almost an obvious thing (though a select few went rather a pagan direction). But nowadays, it seems black metal has devolved into hate against people, or just hate to hate. This band wants to bring it back to the core thing of being against ideas and certain philosophies, not even necessarily related with religion. And that's where he made the joke that they're the new Satan (in the context of black metal). What you shared might all be facts, but they have no relevancy to what was being discussed in this recorded conversation. No feelings hurt. Have a good day.
@@GRIMMGent ok.. why is your genre of music orbiting around Christian ideologies if its not appropriating them? I respect you, but if you presume your damaged ego a platform to validate yourself. its going to end up rather embarrassing. So he is appropriating satan, but not appropriating satan? I dont understand, perhaps it is my autism preventing me from grasping your word salad. I didnt say you appropriated biblical academia. I said i study biblical academia and i ended up here because you appropriated it. As you are not actually talking about religion, i have been effectively click baited. Where you are not only trying to justify it; but also gas light me at the same time. I clearly expressed this disconnect in your content. What's rather disgusting is you presume to insult my intelligence because i don't enjoy the same music you do? its text book hubris, brother. I would be offended if I wasnt so obviously smarter than you are. I am only mentioning this because you find me unlikeable and attacked my education.
I have 2 categories of music: Music I like and music I don't like. Sabaton are sat in the first category. Don't particularly care whether they technically fit a certain genre or not and ultimately who does? Gatekeeping a music genre is so pointless.
in the interview, we were not as much gate keeping rather than having an interest in music. I find genres a good way of analyzing music and nerding out about that is just fun.
Power Metal is Nerd Metal. War Nerds are still nerds. Butr Power Metal is more about the style not the content of the songs. Most power Metal Bands are about Vikings and thats more historic with mythology not just fantasy stuff.
I don't know where you get your power metal from, but we'd love to hear about some of those power metal bands that are about vikings. Because we have a hard time thinking of much power metal bands that mostly sing about vikings. And power metal not just fantasy stuff? Probably at least half of the existing power metal bands sing more about fantasy things than anything else. Heck, it's what the genre actually is well-known for.
that's why I wanted to film this with Tommy's statement in the back of my mind. Something tells me he was thinking about it as well when he was playing that solo.
