Hello! My name is Colin and welcome to my channel. I have been baking and sharing my baking with you all since 2014. As a self taught baker, you can watch my oldest videos where I did NOT have a clue what I was doing, all the way until now, where I still don't know what I am doing but I am really confident about it.
Why not watch my "Baking with the Bake Off" playlists where I tried to bake the Technical Challenges from The Great British Bake Off (or Great British Baking Show if you are in America). Or have a look at my musical baking adventures from days past.
I now live in Chicago and sell Scottish inspired baked goods from my own home bakery, The Wee Bonnie Bakery, why not order some snack today? www.weebonniebakery.com
Fun Fact: I have a recipe published in the official TikTok cookbook "As Cooked on TikTok" where I share my vanilla sponge cake recipe with the world.
I find it interesting how you doubled the recipe, while many very old recipes are made for massive quantities of food, and so people often have to divide them. Was this recipe originally abnormally small on purpose?
The beans are such a smart idea! My cousin always has trouble making pie crusts without a 2nd pie tin to hold it down. I'm gonna have to let her know about those
As in you have just one of each? 1/3 the recipe in the video for the 8" one. Then for the 6" one you need 75g butter, 100g sugar, 1 egg, 100g flour, 1/2 tbsp corn starch,1 tsp baking powder, 2 tbsp milk, 1 tsp vanilla. :)
Never just dump dry cornstarch into a hot dish unless you want gross lumps 🙄. Make a slurry of cornstarch and a bit of water, stir smooth and pour in while stirring.
