@@butterfliesofmalaysia Just wonder if the surrounding dont see any butterfly, will the butterfly come and lay eggs even tho I have host plant at my home?
What a wonderful video of the lifecyle of Troides aeacus. It is amazingly done with such details. Thanks for sharing. .I hope to see this species flying in the wild in the future. I have only seen e Troides helena in Penang island and Troides amphrysus in Kedah. Again thanks for sharing! Cheers, SL Liew
Superb photography. Have never seen the life cycle before, only mature imagos on the wing in W Malaysia and Palawan. Larvae are very similar to other Bird wings including species-specific Aristolochia foodplant, which I introduced into my garden so I could breed T aeacus.
I’m glad you like my work 😊🙏🏻 yes , Troides and Trogonoptera caterpillars looks similar but to me each Sp are very different . As for Troides aeacus their host is not only A acuminata ( tagala ) they can take other host like A jackii , in the wild I found them on something else too . Anyway , I had life history on Troides aeacus as well , maybe it will help u in the future . Good luck !
@@butterfliesofmalaysia Thanks for replying. Yes the adult butterflies look so different, yet the caterpillars and pupae are similar. In the same way Pacliopta genus (eg P. aristochiae) look like swallowtails , yet caterpillar and foodplant show much closer connection to the birdwings. Fascinating!
To start , u need to be able to identify what Sp of butterfly available in your area . Then grown their host plant and u will find eggs and caterpillars on the plants
That's a fantastic efforts of conservation you've done . I can't even find the foodplant of this to try to do similar conservations activities of this beautiful insects. Kowtou to your determinations.

@@butterfliesofmalaysia okay if I make a net would you carantee to me how they breeding and laying their eggs on the tree. Could you give me an important trick to breeding butterfly and caterpillar in the net include the things that have to be careful in caterpillar because I used to take care them but they die and not breeding and laying eggs.
Thank you 😊🙏🏻 It is very normal to get wasps when butterflies population become higher . Not only Plain tiger but other species as well . There are still chance not all of them get wasps . You need to keep them safe from not letting their caterpillars outside with all the predators and wasps .
