Nice. That Sunreef 60 is a huge catamaran, but when he went aft and the view of what I think was the HUGE Silver Cat moored behind it... GEESH !! Now, that is HUGE !! :O
She is beautiful. Can't wait to see a full walk through tour? That would show all areas like crew/captain quarters, galley, all cabins, engines etc. Can't wait...
Something like this... ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-lq4HHreKicI.html It's an automated system that flies a kite to help propel the boat over long passages. It basically makes it into a sort of sail boat hybrid.
I never had bow thrusters, they are just another thing to maintain and repair, even with a single screw, a bow thruster isn't necessary 8f you know what your doing.
While a boat of this kind is only for the high end, it is cool to see the electric concept being realized. Having a boat where the only limiting factor to range is the amount of food and booze on board is amazing.
My fantasy is to homestead one of these, where one hull is the 'farm'. Hydroponics, freeze dryers, dehydrators, and freezers. Fish, spear, trap for meat. Brew/ferment some booze. Really stretch time between ports.
Love this Perfected Dream Boat ! Needed many more batteries bank underneath on the bottom of both halls for more stability, and the boat can able to travel much longer distances without turning on the generators. Can wait to see their Silent 120 !!! 😍😉💖⛵️💖⚡️🔋💯👍👏 😉💖🌬🌊🌞⚡️🔋💯🌏✌️
Not a chance in hell I'm floating with lithium batteries. I don't care what generation or what new propaganda they are spouting. Those things bring down whole tankers.
You obviously know nothing about LiFePo4 batteries and that's fine, but you should save yourself the embarrassment by not commenting on battery safety. These types of batteries are extremely safe and do not explode even when punctured. You should look into the matter, if anything, to educate yourself.
Before covid, the first 55ft model was around 2.5 million usd. In 2024 with inflation and redesigning to 60ft, now, asking price is around 4 million. Now there's a 62ft model that's going to be the base model.
I ordered one 3 deck 62 late 2021 fully kitted for 3.2m but then they went bankrupt and the new company will not honor my payments despite them having my hull and components. Now they are suggesting I buy a new one from them for somewhere in the region of 4-4.8m for the same boat. Crooks!
I like the volume and the layout for the most part, however that upper home being unprotected leaves something to be desired. In case of inclement weather, I don’t wanna share my master cabin with the captain. The interior finishes were disappointing. On a final note,I always get the gut feeling that when a yacht tour doesn’t include the crew quarters, it’s because they are ashamed of the poor conditions.
You need to include the engine room(s) when doing any boat/yacht tour. I'm in the 48' cat range to self sail. What was impressive to me is that the beam on the 100' was nearly the total length of what I'd like to own. It would take a LOT of room to turn that baby around... Amazing.
Thank you for addressing lithium batteries catching fire and these lithium ion batteries being next gen from those and properly installed and monitored.
@@owenfromkc3468, also worth mentioning that both chemistries are quite a bit less a fire risk than diesel and especially gasoline. So, while lithium iron is even safer than lithium ion, neither is a real concern relative to existing fossil fuel systems that we are all used to.
Go on Google there are loads of these Silent yachts for sale, Most people that have bought one has put them back up for sale , They are a Nightmare to sail across oceans, You have to keep stopping during the day to Charge or switch to the Diesel Generators, It took us 4 x longer to Sail from Lisbon Portugal to the Cayman Islands, We had to ration our food , My Sister put it up for sale immediately when we arrived in the Cayman Islands, We have gone back to a Sail Catamaran, everyone we spoke to that had also bought one of these wish they hadn’t… Stick to sails,
Having Silent yacht's pay each owner $10,000-20,000 per couple so they could have customers live on one for a weekend. So not really chartering but commission sharing. put 2 sets of couples per weekend and doing this would allow others to truly experience the boat and all of it's greatness. During that weekend you would have a 3 crew also to drive, clean and cook. Something like that.
I suggest if they are adding 180kw of battery for electric motors it would only show 140kw. leaving 5% on bottom and 15% on top end not used unless emergency. Those areas are where most battery damage happens. Same for house banks. Also have a anchor setting for batteries/dock setting that only charges to 80% unless there are really hot days. Also a storage mode where the boat only charges to 60% as it is not being used. These setting will extend the life of batteries big time.
Lithium is much more robust than that, I run my home batteries hard and they have lost little to no battery health. Also in five years there will be many ch better options so keeping everything modular is smart for retrofitting newer technology.
@@casperyourfriendlyghost7552 See you want 20 plus years from your batteries. Look at how fast EV batteries drop to 60%. Its the charging to 100%. My cell phone is a Samsung note 5 years old and it lasts 3 days still. I turned battery to only charge to 80%. My 58kw bank of LFP eve batteries charge to 90% and down to 10%. 2 years and still perform the same. See I want these batteries to last 30 years.
