I was there for 1990-1993. Loved it and learned more than I ever thought possible. I was Rich Matteson's transcriber. Tried to teach him how to use a computer to write his music. That was just a wonderful experience. I was Marc Dickman's son's band director. What a world.
BRAVO, Maestro! I thought I knew all the Intermezzi (and played many) but this gem got by me until now.....Neither do I recall Pogo or Gould performing it. Very profound and intellectual piece which you carried off perfectly with restraint, finesse and modulation. Your physical aspect on-stage recalls the great John Ogden. You left me nothng to criticize. Hope you'll try more Brahms...and also Schumann's Faschingsschwank intermezzo, and some Scryabin. You da Mannnnnn! Cheers from Mexico City!
@@steveegallo3384 Thank you!! I actually am studying some late Scriabin so I’ll definitely be able to scratch that itch for you soon! I’m also working on some Messiaen and Liszt so lots of stuff in the works:)
What an amazing concert. These performers are so talented. They have the best professors guiding them in their personal journey with their musical gifts. Great performance Brandon on Closure.
First met Bunky at a family wedding in Milwaukee in 1977. Such a fabulous musician and gentleman. You won't remember me, but I remember you and your gracious wife, your sister and mother of the bride, Cousin Doris and her daughters, the rest of the family, neighbors and friends. They were very nice people, and they were so proud of you.
You know how you don’t have to be a magician to see magic come alive? It’s no coincidence that “magician” and “musician” as so close. You guys were magic back in the UNF days…and are magic now. You move as one undulating organism of greatness which never ceases to inspire me as well as the other privileged listeners. Bunky is the one of the Masters of such Greatness…the Father of you Fledglings who have grown out of the nest and soared to your own heights. I can’t imagine any higher honor. You all continue to be awe inspiring…as I continue to be a Fan Girl of the highest proportions. Congratulations, Bunky, for leading such a legacy! Love to you all ❤️
I remember that night at the boathouse when Bunky played smoke gets in your eyes. Dave said something like "now I know I want to make music a part of my life". I think I have a bootleg of that performance on analog tape somewhere as I remember listening to it a lot afterwards.
