I was 10 years old seeing it with my family at 44th street NYC , now I’m 56 and watched it with my boys and won’t get tired of watching this scene over and over.
I watched this as a young kid on ABC and loved it. Such a positive role model, now we have movies based solely on the Joker? How sad we have become. We need more positive role models like Christopher Reeve’s Superman. The day this is corny is the day I know I am too old for this society.
Whenever I watch other adaptations of Superman I keep waiting for the John Williams score to come in and it never does. No version will ever reach the emotion of Donner's Superman because of the missing music.
The idealism made into a film vs. reality. The actor ends up a quadriplegic from a horse-riding accident, and the actress ends up dying homeless. Oh, my.
I ran home after watching this in my local cinema in the shopping center with my brother dodging threw everyone with our arms infront of us shouting de de de de der i dont think in my entire life ive ever thought i was running faster 😅
I gotta say, about two years ago (2022) my small western WA town finally removed the old phone booth by the courthouse downtown and my only thought was for this scene and how now Superman might not have a suitable place to change,
This is one of the greatest scenes ever filmed in cinema history!!!! This entire movie was an event when it premiered in theaters. I was a young kid. It you’re from that era you understand, if you weren’t I’m sorry you missed it
I have this movie and I enjoyed it. The person they got I hated that played Perry white he was a tl jerk in the world. Of All the people they could have chosen but they picked him instead.
Christopher Reeve will always be MY Superman! I saw it in the theater and you talk about everyone cheering and clapping when that "S" showed up..absolute pandemonium erupted from the audience. One of my best ever theater experiences!
If the studio went back and cleaned up the footage (4K upscale) and improved the special effects in a classy and professional way (same content - just make it extremely realistic), folks may rewatch 1 and 2 again in the theaters.
