Hey brother I'm about to do my 1st install for Carl's Jr in Spokane WA. Any way I could get your contact # ? It's a repair since the old 1 doesn't work anymore. Thanks brother!
At last someone who gave the thing a challenge. I was considering buying it for my 2.3 turbo, but was worried about the power. Obviously it will handle it easily, thanks for the vid.
Interestingly, the cord handle is on the wrong side of the engine, it should be where the step is, so the foot goes on the step, handle in hand and pull, the foot holding the mower steady while cranking
Thanks for showing a good view of the spring mines came out just bought this beast and man I cleaned the heck out of it… used some carb cleaner now it’s good as new
You forgot to say about the ouchy 🤬 nature of capacitors.. btw it's better to not show, how not to do something... and the writing on screen is unreadable because of red/black, and yellow on a lighter background, and timing to read. 💖 from Bella 🐈
You’re right! Off camera I did short the terminals. There’s so many videos now showing this kind of repair, I sure hope any home handydad has learned to not get injured. Thank you for watching and dropping the first comment. 👍
11RMY or 8.5RMY both look the same. If you have a CH25 engine then you have an 11RMY. There should be a silver label below the controls under the front cover. Also, there is a video of this generator being installed approximately 4 years ago on my channel.
I did on this Gator yes, I have it already on my other Gator. It’s all plug & play if you buy OE Deere parts. All wiring harnesses are already in place in the Gator. I found used parts on eBay, the rocker switch for the dashboard I ordered new.
@@drewsummerfield8996 I do not, I’m sorry. Look on eBay, search: “Gator TS dump kit” I see part numbers on some listings, otherwise call any good JD Dealer.
Me and my son, we found this generator on the side of a road. It's a 1750 KOHLER And we're trying to figure out how to get this one started. It's in really bad condition. It needs a lot of work and I was trying to see if there's anyone that might have some kind of a video that could show us kind of like a step-by-step how to get this generator back into shape again. We don't know much about. How to fix this generator and we're just trying to see. There's any way that somebody might have a video that could kind of show us. We've already replaced the spark plug and we have started cleaning the parts and putting it back on and still the generator is not starting. And I know the guy put it out by the curve.Because it's really old and needs work
I have a 1750w Kohler as well. They are well built old machines. There are parts are available for that K91 engine, the generator parts are obsolete. First and foremost you must get spark before doing anything else. There is a small chance your generator may suffer from the same problem as mine, the magnets in the flywheel have become weak, I did manage to find a good used flywheel for mine. But before you worry about that, you must be sure the points are spotless clean and gapped at .020 and have a good condenser. Let me refer you to: Tayrl Fixes All here on RU-vid. Go through his playlists, he shows exactly how to service points and condenser on a Kohler of that vintage. The ignition is basically the same on all the K series Kohler engines. Also aftermarket carburetor’s are available for very little money, usually they work fine but it’s a gamble with those occasionally. Spend time on Taryl’s channel, you will get a very good education on small engines, and have fun watching most likely. Good luck with your project. ~Keith
I use my only to do the curb because of dog dodo.Use my tractor to cut the rest of-the grass .It starts first pull ,found it 6 yrs ago ,its heavy cast aluminum .The only problem i have sticky drive lever.Cant find manual to adjust it .Unit is same as the one you got sx,as long as it runs right now it good.Thank you for your video.
I do pretty much the same, my 2004 JD tractor does most of the property. I like the Honda to trim up close and occasionally I like to use the Honda for everything when I have the time, and ambition.
That screw is the low speed mixture. It should have a stop tab on the screw. Turn CCW until it hits the stop. *if no stop tab then turn CW until it stops then open 1-1/2 turns CCW to begin. Then warm engine, set throttle to idle and adjust that mixture a little either direction to achieve smooth idle.
I believe the pair goes to terminals 3 & 4. Pause the video at: 10:41 you can see the terminal block. The thin green & white are the test wires on the start closure terminals. If you need to, email me and I’ll send you a picture that clearly shows this. Use (same name) @gmail.com type “Kohler” in subject line. I’ll do my best to help.
FYI - shutting off the fuel and running it until it stops does not completely empty the fuel bowl. There is still enough fuel there to gum up the jet. Ask me how I know.
Yes I realize that, you are exactly correct. Longer term storage I always pull the drain plug on the bowl, sometimes even squirt a little carb cleaner in the hole to rinse the bottom of the bowl clean. In the case of no drain, like a Tecumseh carb, I loosen the bowl nut slightly to drop the bowl just enough to let the gas drip out. If carb is inaccessible without taking stuff apart, I will run a cup of Engineered Fuel through after draining the gas tank. Then run it out of gas again, at least that way there’s no alcohol gas setting in the very bottom.
You can always remove the ground at the engine! Amzoil makes "MP HD". It's a penetrant with grease. The solvent carrier evaporates leaving a waxy film. I set up my solar that way. I'm running three 48v banks of 445Ah L16s. I polished every terminal and connector, tightened it all down and then a liberal application of MP HD. After 2 years I have ZERO corrosion! I also retired my Winco 8K. (Still have it. Just...retired...) Got a deal on a Kohler propane 12K liquid cooled 1800 rpm 1.3L 4 cylinder for $2500. Runs the house while throwing 6500 watts at the batteries and never approaches full load. Should last me a while! Say, did you ever check the water in that battery??
Hi JB, thanks for the information ithat product sounds better than my current method. I still have that old battery here, I turned in an older dead one. I’ve not yet spent any time on the battery I pulled out. I have one of those Chinese devices that’s supposed to restore a somewhat sulfated battery 😂. I will be trying that and most likely making a video in stages to see if it actually does any good. Now that Kohler LP genset is a great upgrade and certainly you got it for a good price. The Winco is just a basic power plant. The Kohler is obviously a much better quality machine, it should hold real stable voltage & frequency. I still have my Winco too. It’s setting at my other property, it needs to be sold ASAP as I’m cleaning that place to be sold. ~ Good to hear from you my friend.
I have that exact honda motor. The 1st issue was that it snapped the rod in half. 3 months later, it snapped the cam in half, Honda said there are no known issues and refused to let me make a claim about it. I now know why there are no known issues, Honda won't let them be known. Both parts have visible defects in the casting, myself and 9 other techs agree on it being defective casting.
As much as I like Honda GX engines, it’s my opinion the newer units are built as well. In your case, when the rod let go, it probably struck the cam and may well have stressed the middle where it is thinner. I assume the engine had proper oil level and was not overspeeding? However I can totally believe the rod casting may have been compromised when made.
Best guy I can recommend is Steve @ Arcadia Cushman, in Arcadia Indiana. There is not a Cushman question he can’t answer. They have a large stock of parts as well. Good luck with your project.
Those new dehumidifiers are so cheaply made now. I wonder if a barb fitting can be tapped into the bucket and make it last a few mor years for him, or a bucket bypass was still available.
When I checked it yesterday the drain pump was functioning properly. I’m thinking homeowner didn’t press “pump” button to enable it. Controls are confusing on this unit. I have a Chinese unit similar. Bucket is so thin it probably won’t support a fitting. I decided the machine was not worth lot of labor, I drilled a 3/8” hole in bucket and place it directly over one of the floor drains at my basement.
@@chatrkat it is good that you got it working for him, and helped him out with so much already . I have an old dehumidifier from the trash where The bucket was smashed so I bent up stainless steel sheet metal from a trashed grill and made a drip tray with a ⅜ tube. It is an old 40pt fake wood grain Hampton Bay with no corrosion at all on the evap coil. Was thinking about putting an HVAC condensate pump underneath the tray.
I got one of these 16 months ago, used only a couple of times and now it won't take a charge, contacted Nicole but they were not helpful at all. I feel compelled to write a very negative review on Amazon.
I am sorry to hear, but with all electronics you certainly can get a bad unit. I assume you have tried a different cable and charger? I am surprised NOCO is not willing to assist you.
Well I’ll be 66 this February. My dad used to speak of his Eagle when I was young. Who’d have ever thought I would have one too! I love it, but you can’t buy American made points and condensers for them now. I’m tired of repeated ignition failures from the Chinese junk parts.
I have an HS55 and HS928 both track versions. I wanted to use the HS55 today since I have not used it in 3 years. Besides the fact I always forget to turn the knob to ON every time it started on first pull. Still kicks a$$! My HS55 has all new belts and looks like new. Be cautious when messing with the rubber drive wheel if you ever need to adjust the drive. Took me days to get to where it was right.
Thank you for watching and posting a comment. My Honda snowblowers always start easily, after i remember to turn on the key switch. I firmly believe my success is running the gas out of the carb bowl when I’m finished using them. Same with all my equipment. End of season all gasoline is removed. I have ethanol gas here, can’t let that crap set too long in any small engine. Yes that drive disc adjustment is critical. As I stated in the video, I really like that HS55, perfect size and plenty of power for my requirements when a single stage isn’t enough. I have a HS724 at another property. I love the smooth hydrostatic drive, I assume your HS928 is equally as nice to use. I have videos published on several Honda powered machines I own. I am a big fan of Honda equipment and Honda small engines.
I have a question for you, i have the same unit and im wondering how many times you can jumpstart before the battery needs charging? My unit uses 25% each time just curious if thats normal. Thanks
❤️ thank you for asking about my Charlie. I’m sad to report Charlie has been in heaven a little over a year. I still miss him deeply. I lost him to bladder cancer.
@@chatrkat Oh my gosh - I am so sorry to hear that - and for your loss. He was a very lucky precious soul to happen upon you that day. All your cats are lucky. Bless you.
@@bjw9587 thank you. Charlie was one of a kind. His happy personality and quick learning made him a real joy. His ashes are back here with my other past cats urns.
@@chatrkat He seemed like such a sweetie. You are a great cat dad. I happened across your videos a long time ago when I was starting a volunteer job at a humane society.. I must have been Googling cat rescue or some such thing, no idea. But it has been such a pleasure to watch your cat videos over the years. <3
@@bjw9587 thank you for the kind words. He was a most unique little guy and a wonderful member of my family. I post a lot of my cats on Instagram if you would like to see some current pictures and video clips. @chatrkat
I have seen a couple of the paddle upgrades guys have done. Originally I was planning on doing the same to this machine, but it operates so good now I have not bothered to upgrade. At my other property I have a rather beat-up track drive HS-55 too, it’s in need of internal engine repairs, but the machine does work. I saved it just in case I needed drive parts for this machine. Did you see the other video on the HS-724 I have posted? It is a slightly newer hydrostatic drive machine, I like the smooth operation a lot. Just like our HS-55’s the 724 really throws snow far. Can’t beat these Honda 2-stage snowblowers, no comparison to the junk hardware store snowblowers my neighbors have.
I have the same engine on my unit. These are the mods I have done on my my 12PT Mckissic: replaced the clutch on with a Hilliard Extreme clutch. Much heavier duty than the stock clutch. Beefed up the motor mount with angle iron and welding. The stock motor mount flexed so badly I couldn't hold the belt adjustment. Welded the tips of the flail hammers with tool steel welding rod. The stock hammers are only mild steel and they wear quickly. I am on my third season of running 100 ea. 30 gallon barrels of leaves through it and they are showing minimal wear.
No, that 3 ton condenser and my 230v air compressor are not on backup power. You’re correct on the era. that York is 1985. Still operates as good as the day I installed it.
I bought a used HS724A last year and it stopped throwing snow. I have to replace the auger belt but I bought both so I can them at the same time. Thank you for this video.I started removing everything today today. Much appreciated.
Not sure I understand the question. Responding to the service call, 1 day normally. I usually stock one of those on the truck with the other service parts. Now the EMX detectors are available when ordered from my supplier.
