Take your old newspaper and recycle it into something that can be used in your house. By making baskets out of woven newspaper, you can create several different sizes, styles and types of baskets. Paint the baskets so they match your decor. With just a few items and some patience, you can use that newspaper for something other than filling up the recycling bin. With some supervision, children can take part in the activity. pletenie-iz-gazet.net
It’s very beautiful. 😍 I love it. Thank you for the lovely video and instructions. I’ve never made one, but this is very inspiring. I’ll try to make it. ❤
If you use paper that is heavier than 45 GSM, the walls of the tubes will be thicker and harder to lengthen. Do you need to use a narrower strip of paper? The same width of paper but a thicker rod?
@@MsBasketry Thank you for the links. You have some very helpful methods that I not seen elsewhere. My problem is with starting the roll. The corner of the paper doesn’t want to curve around the rod. It may be because I am not using newsprint, or perhaps this paper needs a thicker rod. It helps to moisten the corner, but that’s an extra step. I’ll continue to experiment.
hi, I am a longtime fan of your channel. As English is not my first language I sometimes have problem understanding your verbal directions. If you could you kindly answer a few of my questions here in writing I would be highly grateful. 1> How do you process the tubes before weaving? as in what do you do to keep them pliable? 2> How do you process the baskets and other products after weaving? as in what kind of primer or varnish or anything else that you use to give strength and longevity to the product? 3> What kind of glue do you use during weaving? You mentioned in a video something about polyurethane but as I said I have problem understanding your every word. The only thing readily available in where I live is synthetic gum or white synthetic resin adhesive from Pidilite. I can order online but I don't know what to search for, could you please specify. Thank You🙏
Prayers for you and your country.. You have been my inspiration for weaving, thanks to you I have even started introducing kids to this art. Stay safe!
I've been trying to make paper tubes for years, I watched several videos explaining it, and I never succeeded, as one side was always wider than the other. When I saw your video I tried to make one tube and WOW I did it right away! The secret is in the hand that holds the tube! And it's much faster! a big thank you!
I am very glad that my video helped you. I recommend watching my latest video on this topic. I think it will be useful. ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-iMNgwHZ_Y4w.html
Thank you for demonstrating this technique. While watching I was I had a ah hah moment as I'm a long time crocheter and am practicing wire weaving where working in round patterns is a vary similar technique. Also weaving rugs. Caught the bug and love weaving we with newspaper tubes!
