Clarence "Tater" Tate on Bass Fiddle. He was also in Wilma Lee Cooper's band as the Fiddler. If this doesn't stir your Soul, your wood is soggy.

Ralph meant "Father of Bluegrass". Jimmy Martin is known as the "King of Bluegrass".

@@0815casey of course but Monroe's title and recognition is the Father of Bluegrass. He was always announced that on the Grand Ole Opry.

For newer or younger fans of real country music, Justin Tubb’s father was country music great Ernest Tubb, “The Texas Troubador”. Justin wrote this song decades before the similar “Murder On Music Row”. Justin’s song has become standard repertoire around the world, especially Japan and Ireland. Couldn’t agree with him more.

A musicological study of the phrase endings and starts as well as the flatgtened 7th harmonies would be intriguing .

The one singing solo is Tom Ewing, who wrote a 600 page book about his 10 years with Bill Monroe. He lives in Ohio.
