There's a lot of cartoons I never watched, since we never had cable. There was a while after I graduated from college that the laundromat had a TV, so I watched Wonder Pets.
I also don't care for raisins, which was a good thing when I gave colleagues and friends granola for Christmas, as my minster's cats ate ALL of her granola, but it didn't have raisins in it, so they were okay.
The community college where I work struggles to keep up with paper shredding. Semester ended today, and they had a bonfire of papers to "shred" and pallets.
I sent for an autographed picture of Jeff Goldblum when I was either in high school or an undergrad in college. But then I decided I don't care for Jeff Goldblum, only early Ian Malcolm. Although his character in "The Fly" was alright too.
One upside of paleontology fieldwork is that our crew chiefs generally insist on a full hour for lunch. It gets hot out there, and people will overwork. Sometimes we will start early and take a shorter lunch, or maybe take a short lunch at the end of the week/season.
I tend to get pitch on my clothing during lunch in the field, or when out prospecting. I like the smell, and I always wear a hat, so I'm not worried about it getting in my hair.
My parents really don't cuss/curse, so I don't either. I rarely say anything worse than "crud" or "crap". I find that more "creative" language makes more of an impact, as most people have already heard most of the 4-letter words. When I'm physically hurt, I tend to say nothing instead of cursing, other than waking up with a Charley horse at 2 am and saying "ouch, ouch, ouch", which apparently was overheard...
In Wyoming, riding shotgun means you have to help keep the driver awake. One of my high school teachers used to SHAVE while driving in Nebraska, I believe.
