I was the second owner of this bass. CT only lets you pick scale and whether you want to go Semi Frills (Bolt-on) or All the frills (Neckthrough). He lets you choose between 3 scales only too: 32”, 36”, or 38”. You might be able to go with a wood bridge, but I’d try for that on a fretless. CT hasn’t been building basses in entirety for some time now. This one would have been built by Kelvin Daly and/or Pete Hilton.
Yes, EMG DCs with CTs special filter circuit that cuts the highs. I think I’d prefer CS or TW over DCs if I got another. No CTs in my distant future. That bass has been gone from my possession for nearly two years now.
He plays a few! Most of them are piccolo basses, and they usually have a whammy bar on them. He also has one that is a sort of replica that was designed by a friend of his.
@@Bi_scotti_5 i counted seven CT basses off the top of my head that Claypool owns - 1980 piccolo (1976 style, his first CT), 1978 six string, 1978 four string, 1991 rainbow bass, 1999 antimatter, a 2002 piccolo, and a replica of the first one (he retired his old 1980) i’ll check my accuracy later probably lol
How do you get so many basses to demo? Do these companies loan you them or are you buying all these basses?? I've never seen someone with so many different high end basses!
I buy all of them used. I've been doing this for over 10 years. Most of them I no longer own because I can't afford to keep them. There's not a single company that will loan me a bass to demo. I certainly have a ton of experience with some amazing brands of basses. And I've decided to share them on RU-vid.
Cool. Yeah, it’s for sale on talkbass and reverb. It’s an amazing instrument. Output is surprising. Not often you see an Fbass with so many customizations!
Thanks man! It's killer! The bass is 36" Scale, which I find awesome. Playability is among the best instruments in the world. It doesn't get better than this, period. :)
Love the Alleva also some nice chicken pick-in my guy.. But can you give me some chicken pick-in slap.... wanna hear that Alleva get popped and plucked my guy.
Hey C, is the volume actually dropping due to the bend, or is the string vibration less/tighter due to it just getting more taunt? Reading that on TB, im not hearing a volume drop as much as the string ringing out less due to the 'hang time' of the bends.. Have a good one pal.
I never heard any volume drop due to bending on a 5 string Wal that I've owned and never focused on that aspect when I owned a couple of 4 string MK2s. I have heard it on a 4 string Wal MK1 and there were videos posted of it on talkbass.com. Whether they're still posted, I doubt it.
