Just breaking up from an unhealthy relationship, a partner who i couldnt make an emotional connection with, never seemed to want to comprehend or validate my feelings even though i tried to communicate so much with him. It saddens me how lonely i felt with him, even though i loved him so much bc he always took care of me. Listening to covet is really cathartic.
One of those albums you come back to.... I'm now in my late 20's. Good job, not a whole lot to complain about in my life with the exception of some things. But I can't seem to shake this overwhelming feeling of darkness and sadness, and this album encapsulates that 100%. I just saw citizen live at when we were young in las vegas a few weeks ago and it was surreal. The feeling with everyone around me screaming every word, all the emotion, all completely real... Made me not feel so alone for a moment. This band is something I can't even put to words. I am struggling so badly and have been for awhile now, except the difference now between when I was young is that I don't have a whole lot to really be sad about but... I am. And as much as I try, I still am. Listening to this album gives me so much sadness and hurt yet so much nostalgia and yearning for a time that I once wished I was out of, to now only wish I was right back there... Anyways, this is one of the best records of all time. Timeless, encapsulating, perfection. Enjoying in late 2023. Cheers everyone.

I've been listening to these guys for 8 years, maybe more. They made a real impression to me when I was depressed. And they did before and during the pandemic. And they still do as I still deal with poor mental health.
