At one time either late 60's or early 70's a motorcycle gang lived there. And in the early 80's across rt 30 was a strip bar called the Stinkin Lincoln. I do miss those times, how it's changed.

What a waste. It will deteriorate into nothing. She's already been stripped of some architectural details...jewel posts, light fixtures...etc. Just an incredible piece of antebellum architecture.

one more beautiful home built when people didn't have to pay taxes. Nobody could afford to replace this now. Glad that it still stands.

It had a telephone in 1877? The telephone was just invented part way through 1876. Was it a direct line to Alexander Graham Bell, as they would have been the only two to have a phone?

Too bad we don’t have a National Trust to keep such historical homes beautiful for future generations. The Home Depot is a cancer growth to the country. Thank you for showing what is left.❤

That is one charming home for as big as it is. It seems light & airy during a time of heavy dark interiors. Plus, this home is so solidly built, but doesn't appear heavy. A very cottage feel to it.

He mentioned in separate video that there was a man-made pond close to the house. That would have been used to freeze water in wooden blocks during the winter months. A well made ice cellar could keep ice right the way through summer. And that cellar looks extremely well made. I sincerely doubt any animals were kept in that lower level of the house. Most certainly would have been a very beautiful expensive Victorian kitchen. One can only imagine. Other people here have written an impressive description of all that would have been involved.

Just build a masonary wall to block the view of that Home Depot. It's a win-win situation. The house could maintain its persona and Home Depot which was likely build their premise with tight budget, could safe their face without interfering the true classic environment. Seriously.... hurmmmm McMansion style? What would they thinking.....

If you are going to do a "house tour" - you should know the correct terminology for what you are describing; you should also know the style of everything you are showing. Very poorly presented video ........................

I lift up everyone's prayers, wants and needs to You Jesus, please pour out blessings. May Your favor, grace and mercy be upon the world. In Jesus name come help us all. You know our needs and everything else about each of us. In Jesus name amen thank you Jesus praise God 🙏🕊️💕🔥🙏 Jesus Christ is the son of God who died and rose three days later and loves all of you. He died for everyone and wants you with Him, to know Him and live for His glory. Come be saved eternally and spend time with Him to know Him. Be free, forgiven, healed, delivered, saved, baptized, whole and let Him show you how He is everything you need. Ask anything in His name 🕊️💕🔥🙏 amen hallelujah praise God thank you Jesus 🙏 Show God, live for His glory. Be rooted and grounded in love, His truth. We are to be an example of Jesus for the world to see Him and want to know Him and know Him more. 🕊️ 🙏🔥 💕 2 chronicles 7 14 says if My people humble themselves and pray and seek My face and turn from their wicked ways I will hear them from heaven and heal their land. People need to repent, be cleansed by His blood and live Holy because He's Holy and righteous because He's righteous. Our God said to stop sinning in many many scriptures and He paid for everyone to be cleansed of sin, to live how He said. He dwells in the temple (your body) and said not to defile the temple. He's worthy of everything He said and paid for, so I implore you to do as God said. Jesus said If you love me you will obey me. Praise God thank you Jesus in Jesus name 💕 🕊️ 🔥🙏

Why all the videos on youtube show the victorian houses interior not the exterior???????? I really wanted to see the art of the exterior I don’t really care about the interior.

I kept thinking of the families, gatherings, & parties during its heyday. If those walls could talk! This is what's left of a bygone era. Why couldn't the historical society come in & restore it to its original glory & have tours, weddings, & etc.? Just a thought. Thank you for sharing this.
