My son is in 1st grade now they moved him this year to the special ed classroom from Gen Ed. When I asked about the aide they did give the classic “we want to be least restrictive reason” he was really behind in his reading and writing and math. So we moved him to the special ed classroom with the hopes of catching him up because the classroom was moving to fast. My concern is that the special ed classroom has some students with high levels of need compared and I’m afraid that he won’t be on track to graduate with a high school diploma. I’m not sure if this is the right choice
For an adult with autism and ADHD combo with a wild and unpredictable, mood disorder, it works 1 or 2 milligrams to calm down my, what id call "aspie cathartic rage." I yell at the world from time to time because of the crime and oppression. No, autism does not need to be on it for life. Really one day dose snaps me out of my protest/meltdown.
I believe this is Absolutely TRUE.. It's a new "thing" to have an autistic child.. Much like munchousin by proxy. All the attention and special benefits they get. A diagnosis is a good reason for them to not parent and espically not have to discipline their child. Sorry I have seen this over and over again with friends kids, grandparents kids and kids in the school when I was a teacher's aid.

I’m 52. Male. Two kids, wife. We’re all okay. I’m a teacher. Ex software developer (which I quit doing because it’s lonely). Twin daughters, 14, doing well. I’m bipolar, unmedicated. Recovering alcoholic, 16 years sober after 20 years sozzled. And I just found out I’m autistic. It makes sense. I read thousands of books as a child. I was addicted to the written word, and the worlds contained within. But I grew up in the biggest gang in the village. I was protected. My differences were playfully accepted by my peers. They benefitted from my knowledge. I’m glad, in a way, that I had no diagnosis as a child. No box to be put in and hold me back. I moved to Thailand aged 34 and learned a new language. I live there now. But I do wish someone had told me I was an alcoholic…
My son is verbal. He does talk, but he screams when I correct him. I don't know what to do.Even the neighbors hear him they probably think I hit him, which is not true Somebody help 😢 And he's 18 years old
My parents chose never to tell me and when I was an adult I got myself diagnosed and then I told them and they said they already knew I was because I was test in elementary school.
Hello. I have been in SpEd for 2 years as a paraprofessional and this is my 3rd year. This year is different because I was used to being in a high functioning classroom of 4th/ 5th graders and have since been moved by the principal to a very moderate-severe classroom with 5 K/ 1st graders and 6 3rd graders. The little ones are nonverbal and often display aggressive behavior when not given attention, tangible objects, etc. I want to be able to ignore the attention seeking behavior and not respond to it, and all of us, the teacher included, are on the same page for it; however, the student often throws stools, chairs, books as a last resort and it works for them because we have to fold. We need to make sure we and all of our students are safe. We've asked for a B.I.I for the student but nothing has happened, and the teacher is new at her job. This is not a rant- I was just wondering if you know what the best thing for us to do is? The student means well and is really sweet, but I think it is, like you said, her bucket of clay is very large and has a hole at the bottom of it. Thank you.

I know this is an old video but im struggling with this. Ive tried using a timer on my phone for every 30 mins. Nothing works. My son is now in kindergarten wearing pullups to school.
My awesome sweet teenage grandson is autistic and he is my hero! Very kind, doesn't lie, sweet and very very nice to be around! So proud of him! Nothing to be ashamed or upset about! And yes, Barron to me, seems to be on the spectrum and good for him! If it is true, his parents not saying he is, makes it look like they are ashamed, which is very sad...
Boy I wish the majority of teachers I had, had the skills you talk about. I was born in the 80s n every one of the teachers I've had had no patience and didn't do sqaut as far as trying to help me. I was not diagnosed with autism as far as I know. My mother if she had, did not tell me. Every day, it was a challenge for me. I had teachers in high-school tell me I was never gonna amount to anything. I would be a no body. Now I make way more then them and the one teacher who said I will never amount to anything, one year after I graduated he went to prison for cocaine. Infact him, the middle school math teacher and a few others got busted at a teachers Xmas party for having cocaine. The local judge was the guy supplying them. He got busted as well. It's been 15 years now and I see the judge and the math teachers face on a billboard in town, he is running for judge again. I always knew there was something up with her. I remeber having her in math. She would get up and go to the bathroom every ten 15 min. Come back yacking away. She Still teaches at valley view high-school in the Lackawanna area

According to physicists quantum mechanics throw of the dice laws our intelligence and the chance of Autism is determined on the fact our bodies (our brian cells in this case) is made of growing neurons in the fetus made up of the atoms of the universe. The question I guess is the chance of the processing speed runaway in the number per cubic area in areas of the brian slowed down or speeded up faster than normal at the fetus stage. The growing fetus is wiring our brian according to quantum mechanic laws on a atomic scale
