I believe in saw 11, we'll find out who those 2 other guys who helped doctor gordan are. We don't truly know if they could be brat and Ryan from the public trap. This is an incredibly critical detail that saw 11 should let us find out
In retrospect, I think it was fairly obvious that Gordon was an accomplice the entire time. John wouldn't have had the surgical knowledge to come up with some of the aspects of any of the traps from Saw II and onward.

This has to be one of the best twists in modern cinema. I was stunned when I first watched. Plus i love the look Lawrence gives at his decayed foot. Truly masterful.
(GOT spoiler ahead) Hate on this comment if you feel the need to, but this scene gives me goosebumps, it's like watching Ramsey getting eaten alive by his hounds while Sansa slowly walks away. Well done...
Something that just occurred to me. Since the other two pig masks are the two dudes from the beginning, one could theorize that they never took up Jigsaws philosophy like Gordon or Hoffman and were just recruited by Gordon with the promise that the man who put them in their trap (Hoffman) got what he deserved.
Just one problem: the Love Triangle trap was done by John and Gordon, not Hoffman. There was supposed to be a scene showing them in the crowd watching the trap.
