Thanks just did the first oil change on my hrx 217! How you're liking the plastic deck? That is my big concern about mine hopefully it will last a long time
@@DeafRedneck you’re welcome! Thanks for watching! Please like and subscribe. I personally like the plastic deck. I guess time will tell in terms of how long it will last.
I just got me a HRX217 from Do - Cut Warren, Ohio. They still have all the models left including the electric start. I got the basic one, for me lesser to go wrong in the future. I have a old 160 that has been used More like a brush hogging and still start first pull.
I heard from a Honda rep in a Ocala fl store they are talking about maybe coming back . The person said only HRX, and HRN . No talks about HRCs which are my personal favorite
@@manuelzermeno3702 the transmission is a sealed transmission. Unfortunately, there is not an easy way to check it. Yes, it can be disassembled, but you would not want to disassemble it just to check the fluid level. As long as you don’t see any signs of a leak, you should be good.
Hmm, I was using 5w-30 full synth and engine definitely has a valve tick, good I saw this video, didn't realize its supposed to have 10w-30! Bit thicker oil might help.
Small engines require a specific oil. Vehicle motor oil is not designed for air cooled engines and will break down from the heat these engines produce. Obviously clean and fresh oil is better than old oil but it will break down a lot quicker and increase wear.
That scale measures weight, not mass. Quit calling it mass! I'm sure there's about 65 grams of water still trapped inside the spool. The white powder is added to reduce the string from sticking to itself...
It’s funny you say that. After I soaked it I realized I should have performed a breakage test before soaking it in water and then after just to see if there was a significant difference. Thank you for watching! Please like and subscribe!
There is a good chance water is still caught all up inside that spool in ways of osmosis, to truly dry it out you'd have to unwind it all in one long string and let that sit outside for an hour or two in bright sunlight by which time it will likely look just like it did before. The white powder, by the way, helps keep the string from binding up inside the trimmer spool. I doubt that's because it's "dry," more like a baby powder that was added at the factory, many of mine come this way already.
@@8307c4 I am sure you’re right about truly drying it. As I said, it’s not a truly scientific experiment. As far as the powder is concerned, I definitely don’t remember the white powder appearance when it was new. Thanks for the info and thanks for watching! Please like and subscribe!
HRR216 VYA Honda mower I have had in the shop now for over 6 weeks needing a drive belt, cannot find one anywhere, I really like Honda mowers, but I will never buy another one, seems like it is impossible to find replacement parts.
I live near cresson. Nice town. In the summer I go there to hike because it is cooler. In the fall it is very pretty. In December I visit because they always have a white Christmas when no one else in the area has any snow. In the spring……wait, some year I have seen snow in May.lol
Thank you For updating us on this Honda issue. I want to share my thoughts and my experiencing that I'm having. I did get recalled repaired but I don't know if the valves has been adjusted and how would I know? I'm not a technician that's questionable second thing is that I've noticed with gas line valve in the off position I was able to run my mower for five days and noticed that it's possibly defective. Also I'm also noticing with the valve on of course it has encounter an idle issues, revving up and down possibly carburettor issue or something else with the recall Repair that's causing this issue. I've only had mines for about nine months. It's kept in the garage and clean no debris in the filter.etc I think Honda should've been changing out these lawnmowers or refunding the customers that are affected by these models that encounter too many issues
Why the gear is made with plastic pvc and with the heat gets deformed melted the inside the engine and not only arrive the return of backfire and goes inside the carburetor from the Honda engine and from the carburetor goes to fuel tank you are screwed
I'm waiting on Amazon to deliver my new Sending Unit for my 2000 Tracker TV-18. Gas gauge "seems" to function, so hopefully replacing the SU will be successful like yours!
Just got my bx. There was a hydraulic line loose on the front and it leaked fluid. I tightened the fitting and it’s no longer leaking. What fluid do I check to make sure it’s not too low? It was a line up front to tilt the bucket
Hi, it’s me again that just left that message about the second dipstick on the left side of the engine. I was mistaken. I wasn’t at my tractor when I left the comment but now that I look, it’s not an extra dipstick but an extra oil fill port.
@@averagejoevideo9556 well then I guess my question then was what is the second oil fill port for on the engine? It would be hard to add oil to that fill port because you have to take the wraparound cover off to get at it. Is it for the same type of engine oil or is it for something completely different and why doesn’t it have a dipstick to check it?
@@averagejoevideo9556 well I didn’t really figure anything out, I just corrected my self so you could better understand what I’m talking about. I still don’t know what that second oil port is for. Am I supposed to put engine oil in there or something else and where is the dipstick for checking the level that is in there?
0:41 well since I can’t get average Joe to answer my question about what the extra port is for on my BX 2670 engine could somebody else that knows tell me? PLEASE
Yes, I know that it is an extra oil fill port, I corrected myself on the following reply after I said dipstick. So what is that extra oil fill port for?
Thank you for your video. I have the same model, brand new. I like this mower but having some issues with mulching and wonder if you are having the same problem. When the clipping director is fully closed for mulching, there is a small gap such that clippings fill up the chute. Looks like a bad door design and wonder if you know a fix for this. Thanks
I have a three year old HRN216 and when I heard they were dropping mower production, I quickly purchased a new HRX217 for a back up just in case. I'm good for life! I've had nothing but Honda for over thirty years...
Thank you for being so honest and helpful, that just made me change my mind about it, so I was thinking about acquiring one for my own use. Forget about it ! 🙏🏻
I just bought a HRX217 and Honda has assured everyone that everything they are selling now has been updated or they have pushed their inventory from more recent manufacturing beyond the issue.
