Im having a weird issue I cannot find any files in the drive so I tried to write to the usb and it says it wrote it once I check usb on pc it shows nothing but when I load the directory on the lathe it shows it has file inside never seen this before is there a setting I’m missing ?
@@azmr Hi, i'm new to the floppy-usb emulators but I saw your question. Maybe the computer you are trying to view the files of the USB stick can't view the way the USB stick is formatted. The usb sticks are formatted as if they were the old floppies which most newer computers don't support. I could be wrong. What kind of USB upgrade did you go with?
@@at0mix197 so I figured it out I needed to purchase a usb 2.0 then I formatted it to fat then I used a floppy formatting software and it turned it into a 1.44mb drive which works like a charm
@@at0mix197 so my client had got his machined switched to a gotek or similar floppy emulator I was able to get it working by purchasing 2.0 4gb usb drives then I formatted the drives to fat format after I had to use this software called Floppy Emulation Manager Tool V3.500 then I was able to format that usb into a 1.44mb usb drive which seems to make it think it’s still a floppy and let’s it communicate with it with no issues I’m able to read and write into the usb drive. If you need any additional help let me know I can walk you through process. Also i named the drive the same nave as the video not sure if that helps but it worked for me.
I bought a cheap knurling tool to use on my lathe years ago, but never tried it until now. This video was the last one I watched and the only one I needed. One scrap piece and then the first real attempt worked great. Thank You! (and ignore the other comments that complain about the focus on the close-ups - some people would complain if you hung them with a new rope)
Using the 6in. machinists rule is a trick I learned long ago. I use that method all the time and is the best lathe tip there is. To this day I still amaze veteran machinists regularly who had never even heard of it.
Hello there I don’t suppose you could do a video of the quick code just a normal facing cycle I can’t get mine to run and I don’t know if I’m doing something wrong. Thanks
There is and easier way if you go to into edit and hit F1 a menu opens in the upper screen part and then you can use the arrow keys to move one left and then down to "Directory list" or something like that. That shows you all the files on the USB Stick. I can do a video on that if you want to.
Hello Mr. Michael! I have some questions to ask you. the way you cut surface number 1 is using 2 parallels , i saw others doing with 1 parallel and 1 round stock when cutting surface 1. Is it any differences? and which way is correct?
Idea to try. Set a combination square on your compound to compare the vertical tilt of your pinched scale. By having a fixed vertical reference you can easily tell which way the scale is tilting (leaning).
Good video. Very helpful for begginer like me. Question I'm curious. I see you touch off from the back of the chuck, I see from some people that touch off from the stock itself. Is there any difference?
