Aaaaaaand I have subscribed! I am now one of your glimpses 😊. I like your style. ❤ Your piggies are just beautiful! And yes I know I’m 9 months late to the party 😂
Hello! I have my girls on the floor. there is no base of the cage. it is just one layer of bath towels, and two layers of fleece. then I just have 14in grids! Hope that helps!! I can post a video detailing this soon :)
@@GuineaGlimpses Also keep making videos your one of my favorite RU-vidrs I look forward to every video you put out thank you so much I love your channel ❤️
Your girls are so gorgeous. I loved watching how they had to check out each new item as you placed them in their cage. It was like they were thinking is this edible, if not I'm moving on. You can see they are just so happy and really enjoy being with each other. Although, I did have to laugh when your one piggy got too close to the other one. She moved ever so slightly, but just enough to let her know she didn't appreciate her being so close. My girls are the same way. They'll stand side by side, but no touching allowed. Thanks for sharing this video with us. It was really fun to watch.
I am 5” and have back issues. The cage on a table works much better for me. Also it is much better for interacting with the piggies so that I am not looming over them. I saw big change in their personalities once the cage was off the floor.
Your setup and piggies are great! Just a suggestion though. They can benefit from some wood huts and toys to chew on. Enrichment for them. Have a great day!
Thank you! I think wood huts are a great idea because my pigs chew through their toys within hours. I get their toys from the Pig Room and Small Pet Select and my girls devour them. Their quality is so good I can't keep toys in their cage without them being chewed up to pieces within the day. I love the quality but oh my word do my pigs go through them fast. Wood huts may be a good solution!
I am so sorry for your loss.💖 Blossom and Maple are about 1 year and 3 months and Winnie and Clover are 11 months! Only about 4-5ish months apart. Typically, bonding babies to older piggies goes very well. Sending you positivity and luck with your bonding. 💖
Thank you! I'm debating building a stand with grids and cutting my own coroplast to keep the 7x3 size but at the same time the thought of trying to reach the back of the cage sounds like it would be difficult. I'm 5'3 and they are 14in grids. So for now, floor cage it is! We will see if I try something new eventually. 🧐
@@fitzguineavisionI’m 5’ and up until last month I had a 6x4 homemade cage. Since it wasn’t C and C grids, I couldn’t take the walls down. My sides were 12 inches tall and the cage is lifted 3 feet off the ground. I definitely did not think that through when I was building my cage.
@@fitzguineavision Last month I renovated it and now it is a U-shape and has ‘French’ doors which means I can now reach everywhere in the cage. Before, I was not able to reach a large section of the middle no matter where I stood.
hii! what size is your guinea pigs cage? i’m thinking of getting a 5x2 for my 2 boys but i’m not sure if it’s big enough, could you let me know? thanks
@averagenewtlover hello!! I believe in this video, it was a 7x2. A 5x2 would be perfect for two boys. I wouldn't go any smaller than 5x2 for boys specifically. Standard rule, I'd say, is that the minimum cage size for 2 females is 4x2, and the minimum for 2 boys is 5x2.
@cariannepionessa9557 Winnie and Clover did a good job getting it out. Maple and Blossom didn't seem to get it out enough as I'd like in a 7 day period. I ended up going back to Oxbow in bulk and a hay box with pine pellets at the bottom. I definitely think it is worth a try to see how you like it! Everyone and every pig is different 💖🥰
