Im post-op less than 24hrs and my pain is just up front and cant hardly sleep. I would welcome passing gas but not there yet still trying to burp but its small burps so thanks for the advice!! 7-10-24
This is very helpful because I'm in so much pain. One of the things I do to fart is I use a pillow and push against my most painful side in my abdomen i can push a fart out as soon as I feel it. Thank you for talking about the gas in other areas because I was up and walking before the nurses came to get me in the hospital so I've been doing what they tell me but it doesn't work. Knowing there is gas in my back makes me feel so much better.
Thank you, i am literally dying over here from the gas pains. Wow, if the surgeons put the gas in they need to find a way to take it out. I need to get moving more. I want to feel better. Had vsg on 7/19 down 5 pounds so far.
The night after my surgery, I thought I would die from the gas pain. (That's the worst part of any surgery for me. Even heart surgery.) I put essential oils that are for digestion on my shoulder. It took the edge off and I was able to sleep. Heat made it worse for me, but I didn't try to put the heat on my stomach. I am 5 days post-op. The pain is still there, but compared to that first day, I could live with this for the rest of my life.
Congratulations on how far you’ve come! You are so pretty and most importantly you look amazingly healthy. Thanks for sharing your update. I ran across your 6 months post op video at the beginning of my research and have since decided to move forward with bariatric surgery in order to achieve better health. My surgery date is 12/28/2022. I have mixed feelings but feel surgery is my best option for a better quality life and longevity. I too will be having the gastric bypass. I’m currently on Day 4 of the 2 week pre-op liquid diet. Best wishes to you and Happy Holidays!
Thank you so much, and congratulations on your surgery date! The pre-op diet during Christmas is no joke! For me, that was one of the more difficult parts. You might want to check out my “gas pain after weight loss surgery” video as well! I pray that your recovery is smooth and quick!
@@JulieRoggero I did it! Surgery is over. This is Day 2 for me post op surgery was on Wednesday. I’m waiting to be released from the hospital. Minimal surgical pain, no nausea or vomiting, slight discomfort from gas mainly just a bloated feeling. So far, so good😊 wishing you the best and Happy New Year!🎆
@@MahoganyBelle so happy to hear that it went well! I remember once I had my energy back, I just kept feeling better and better. I hope it’s the same for you! Happiest New Year to you! 💖
Thanks for sharing an update :) i feel the same way about just being so thankful for the stability in weight I've had post rny and post pregnancy. I'm sitting 20-25lbs up from my pre pregnancy weight since about 2 months pp and now almost 1 year pp. I'm giving myself grace until my baby is 18months and spring/summertime. I find I am incredibly immobile with an infant vs toddler, and a lot more boredom/mental relief eating. I believe I'd be 50+ lbs up if I had not had rny, as happened with my pre bypass pregnancy. This time i didnt really gain post partum, i just didnt lose all the pregnancy weight. What an amazing tool wls is! Agree, after a certain amount if time you don't really think about it, weight and food is not the focus of your time anymore. You just go on with your new life :)
I’m glad you’ve experienced the same thing! I feel so immobile because of breastfeeding, and all of the Christmas treats people have given us have been in regular rotation for me. Now that we are almost through the holidays, I’m going to get all the junk out of my house and try to start walking more!
So thankful, your journey to parent has began! After a avalanche of prayers to our Heavenly Father! Judah is a beautiful answer to prayer. You and Mike look so happy! God will use what we have been through, to be a testimony in someone life! God bless all three of you!
OMG! YESSS! Thought of you lately. My heart ached for you. Even if you never come back again, I'm so thankful for your life update. Your son was a gift from your dad. Your dad has the best view to watch your son grow, he's not missing anything❤️💛✨️
Congrats on your son, so happy for you Julie!! Found you when before I had gastric bypass, and the last video I remember was your Josiah story 💙 you have a beautiful family. I also had a couple of big babies (had gestational diabetes). My son was 10lbs10oz, and my daughter post bypass was a bit smaller at 8lbs7oz, and I had csections with both.
Thank you! 🥰 I was a big baby, and so was my husband, so they didn’t know if he was big because of genetics or because of diabetes, or maybe a little of both. I’m just thankful he was born healthy. 💕
I'm so glad I made it to the end 🥰🥰🥰🥰 Loved your video and so thankful for you sharing your life with us! Even in your trials, your love and trust in the Lord and His plan is so challenging ❤️
Girl i was 131 kgs now i am 61 kgs and i noticed my hair started to fall after 6 monthes after the surgery did u lost your hair what did u do to grow it back 🥺😭 please i lost all my hair and i am freaking out do u have any advice for me
The hair loss sucks, but mine grew back! I cut mine shorter to help the regrowth blend in better, and tried to take care of my scalp. I also took biotin. I also would have bought a wig, if needed. It will pass, and it’s all worth it in the end!
Mine did grow back! I’m actually losing hair all over again because I just had a baby. It is very hard to deal with mentally, but just keep in mind that it’s temporary! I’m just trying to take good care of my scalp, and will probably get a haircut to better hide it. Less heat on my hair (blow drying, etc.) and not wearing my hair up is another thing I’m doing. It will pass. 💛
They won't let me have any broth or anything just water the first day after surgery. Hello tomorrow I'll be graduating to Jello and stuff like that hopefully.
Hi Julie. Thank you for this video. I had my gastric by pass surgery 5 weeks ago. My recovery is very slow. I have this sharp pain under my ribs in the left side. I think is gas and constipation as I am still on liquid diet. I am opening my bowels every 7 days which is horrible and I believe it is abnormal. But bariatric nurse says is ok. Do you have any suggestions? I walk. I do a lot. But I feel so weak and tired.
How tall are you? What did you weigh? How much do you weigh now? I'm not trying to be horrid. I'm 5 foot 8. I weigh 234, I'm still in the pre surgery, talk to the diet guru, talk to the psychologist, don't eat like a pig phaze..... I hate my body right now. I'm trying to eat more protein, healthy veggies, drink a gallon of water a day...... I need to lose 90 lbs according to the recipe for BMI, I sincerely know that I lived my life at 145 for years,..... and then,,,,,,,,,............. I am not there anymore. I have done every diet out there. EVERY diet. I teach, so just by teaching in my classroom, I walk 4 miles a day- without anything else.... I am terrified that this surgery won't work, and I'll stay a big, flabby girl who gets exhausted just trying to reach a higher step..... I adopted 3 boys, 9 years ago, they are now 15, 12, and 11. They've seen my weight sky rocket- yeah- covid happened- but- my gosh!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I look like a big chubby middle aged tv mom. when I adopted them I was fit, active, strong, ready for life..... now I'm weak, sleepy and sort of lazy and inactive. I am signed up for a gastric sleeve b/c I can't beat the fat on my own, b/c I want to join in games of soccer, basketball, and swimming.... I don't want to hear that it doesnt really work. Please, write back.
Did you ask the surgeon why you can eat more than you expected? This makes me nervous. I'm afraid that I'll go through surgery with high expectations and stay fat. I really want to not feel hungry, to not need food, to not crave nonsense..... Your video scares me. I don't want to feel like I can eat anything. I want the surgery to feel strong- a tool to allow me to not over eat, allow me to lose weight, so that I feel thinner, happier and want to work out. I don't want to feel that everything, as much as I want is good. I don't know what to think now.
