What a good man. He always put his family welfare first. Even as a teenager. I know he was an outstanding Soldier, leader, First Sergeant. Father and husband
If you have served, or you have family members that have in OIF or OEF please share your or his/her combat stories. We as African Americans do not need to wait 50 years from now. To hear and be recognized for their heroism. Thank you.
This really touched my heart what a beautiful story and a blessing to hear such a rich story. I’m retired , so many old soldiers stories relate to just being a soldier. Gods best blessings to this family.
Thank you for sharing such a important part of history❤ I started to cry when I saw the pictures, a mix of emotions both sadness of what they had to endure but also a relief that they made it to the north and gained a freedom that should have never been taking from them in the first place

This was a fantastic story I really enjoyed it. My father was a Buffalo soldier in the 24th infantry regiment. I believe the last all black Infantry unit in the Army. He fought and was wounded in the Korean war.
Thank you for this, i will be using this to help teachers at the school i work with (revisit) why trauma informed practices must be used everyday all day long.
