The aim is to show you how I go about catching coarse fish from a variety of waters and methods. The channel will be a mix of short tutorials and in-situ angling. I hope you enjoy the videos and find way of applying the methods and tips to your angling.
20 odd years ago i saw 2 salmon the male fish was about 16lbs and the hen fish about 12 lbs spawning under a small bridge on that feeder just below the water intake from the taff (blackweir)they had cut a red under there,i think they couldnt get into the river due ti a grid there.
Hi As you say the feeder tends to fish better after a good flood with depth and colour I have caught a few chub when spinning for pike and perch Great video
I have never targeted chub or barbel .....and they are in there too ......but caught most coarse fish in there by a stick float These days I prefer pike and perch and trout spinning , had small trout out of the feeder Taff itself is worth a try
Maybe a bit hard on yourself, mate! Accidental capture and release of out of season fish is not illegal. Assuming you moved on or changed tactics to avoid the trout after a couple, it's fine in a mixed fishery 😊
Well done Andrew, great video, very professional delivery and production! Chub are a great winter quarry, and good for utube interest! Very informative and intuitive approach, especially the pellet/paste idea. I'm fishing on the wye in this area at the end of July, so I'll probably take a look at this spot! Last time i passed through Monmouth it was a trickle! Good luck with the channel, just subbed! 👍👍👍
I used it a lot in the Spring of last year but with casters. It worked really well early season, but as the water warmed up the "Method" really took over.
